ok, I am in the market for a bike to bike communicaitions system for my wife and I. Here is what I am looking for:
Easy 1 button communication
Ability to attach throat mic
Easy mounting system
Good range (Would like 2 miles+ if possible)
I know 0 about these systems, just started looking today. Any help or direction would be great!!

I like my Chatterbox. I only have the cheap FRS model, but it allows open communication between my wife and I when she is on the back we can both listen to the mp3 player. It only has a two mile range, but it is one button activation to talk to other bikes.
I am also thinking about getting one of these systems to talk to other riders as well as listening to music and whatnot through it. I just think that it would be nice to know what others are doing while we are in a pack and just not waiting to look for hand signals and guessing at what they mean.
If you get one, I will not talk to you!!!
I have noticed that the speaker that go into the helmets aren't the best quality, but I am fixin' to upgrade them by unsoldering the old ones and soldering better ones in their place. Other than that, I can't complain about them.

every system i've tried...once you are going over 50mph the wind noise is so bad, it's pointless. that is from the 3 experiences i've had, don't ask which models they were, cause i have no idea

The speakers actually mount inside the helmet. They are a pretty good size, but you don't notice them unless you have huge freaking ears I guess.
I want to try a throat mic, but you would have to cut the wire to the mic that is on there now and splice it in. You would also have to have some way to detach the mic because the speakers and mic are attached to the helmet. I am going to try and put one of those foam wind blocker things on there to try and cut down on wind noise in the mic.

yeah, that would suck.... since you would probably be watching me the whole time and laughing your way to the Springs while I am cruising my way to Grand Junction.
I have a chatterbox that I am not using (for now) that you can borrow for at least a month just to see if that is the type of investment you want in on. Just let me know if you want to borrow it.

never tried a throat mic, the mic picked up too much wind which wouldn't allow me to hear the other person, just wind and static. at 40mph and below it worked great tho.
