What's the most memorable CSC club ride you’ve ever been on, and why?

There have been a lot of great club rides that I've been on, including overnight and multi-day trips, but one of the most memorable was the first time I rode Hwy 105 south to Palmer Lake (started from Wolfensberger). It was in 2000 or 2001 (prolly 2001) - I still had my ZX-11, Barn was on his 2000 R1, and we were leading the pack, tearing it up on an unfamiliar road. It was exciting and exhilarating - cresting some hills only to realize that they were also corners, and having to adjust our line.

Barn for some great riding memories

The last memorial ride (2005 I believe).

There was something incredible about flying up 83 w/ what seemed like 100 +bikes doing speeds that will remain off the boards...

    Good times!

It is because of that ride that I will Never be a 'sweaper' again on a group ride. Too many Newbies that amost were killed infront of my view.

Nope I'm done with that crap. Not in the mood to divert traffic around a dead body on the road.
But other than that, good times

Re: What's the most memorable CSC club ride you’ve ever been on, and why?

Some of the most memorable rides were the ones down to PPIR for the superbike races. It seemed like as we moved along the group just kept getting bigger (kinda like the scene in terminator where the "liquid metal" starts moving back together). Through Deckers, all the way down to the races to watch folks who REALLY know how to ride motorcycles.

I try to forget the rides i've been on where blind corner bill has shown up. I hate that guy.

Back when I first joined up though (2004?), Bulldog(Nate), Brizz and I met up at the morrision conoco, only to get to ride 4 miles up morrison canyon and get drenched on...then we got rained on even more. Good Times! One of my first memories of this place!

The first time I ever rode with Bueller. Until that point, I didn't realize there were sport bike riders who actually knew how to ride.

That one sucked as much as the one when Barn, Nick Ninja, Project Mayhem, and myself went thru South Park and i think we saw all 4 seasons that day..It was the worst ride ever next to the forementioned one by the Dr.

Hey Jon, remember the ride you and me were on about 3years ago, when we got pulled over by Parker police. Gave us a warrning This was after the insane speed that we did on Hwy 85 north of the springs.

Ha, yeah. He was asking me if I was doing Wheelies, and I played dumb. "No sir, I don't know how to do Wheelies". He looks at me like I'm full of it, but still lets me go with a warning. He later said that he rides a Super Hawk, and for us not to give riding a bad reputation.

Oh, and one of the most fun that I had riding with Jon, and everyone else for that matter, was the second RS2SL at PPIR. That was a blast!

Reminds me of the last Cyclefest at Copper Mountain, when the return trip was about 40 degrees (at the most), torrential rain, hail, and 6" of water on I-70. I started getting hypothermic from the cold but the only place I had to go by that point was down the hill. Took riding in the 95+ degree sun in Denver in my coat, hugging the warm side of the bike all the way into Littleton, just to stop shaking. Lesson learned that day: Shitty weather is a lot more fun on the bike when you are dressed for it!

I've had a lot of good times with people here, all for different reasons. I'm not sure I could pick "that one ride", though many stick out in my head as memorable or educational. In that respect, we're lucky to be part of a good group of riders where that sort of thing happens often.

Re: What's the most memorable CSC club ride you’ve ever been on, and why?

Damn... almost too many to name.

Any ride up 24 to Leadville. Credit to Jim Wilson (UglyDogRacing) to recommending that route. I've done it with a number of ya'll. The rainride with Brizz et al. was one of them.

+1 on Bob's Wolfsenberger/Palmer Lake ride. That road was like-whoa with exactly like Bob said... cresting a hill only to have a 90-degree waiting for you. And oh yeah... Wilson was also on that ride too. Dude stopped for gas while he spotted Bob and me and others a couple minutes lead. W.B. and I are hauling, and the next think I know, he's in my mirrors setting up his pass.

I don't even know the route, but Gramps and Wahoo, etc. took me on some back-ass country twisty up by a lake. That road was all kinds of sick foresty bends. I did it later with Clickity_Jeff Ninja and Big-J and others coming from the other direction (Walden), and I got to see that Jeff's bike is actually the Millenium Falcon.

Berthod Pass with the North Central boys, watching them knee-drag switch backs with the greenest envy ever. Their rides are 2nd to none, and that ride was made my ebay some race pants with pucks. Jeans no-longer were that appealing.

    - Poudre Canyon each and every time. Friscokid, MV#33, Ralph, JRok

    - 285 to Deckers with Chanda as passenger

    - Lolo's BBQ ride

    - Oh yeah.... speaking of Ralph, him almost dying at mid-triple-digits on I-70.

    - Swapping bikes with Canuck coming back from SCR, and lane splitting with the PPIR crew after the race weekend.

There's just too many more to mention, but those ones I remember were special.

That was fun! Wasn't that the ride that it snowed on us in June. Fucking June and we are riding out of a snow storm! Sucked at the time, but still fun to think back upon.

Yeah, that one kinda sticks out in my mind too.

Speaking of that ride, Trav is back on two wheels, just picked up an 07 GSXR. We will have to get an old-school ride going soon!

I don't remember any snow on that ride actually, but it's quite possible. The snow rides start to blend after awhile, cause they're always with those N.C. bastards!

And yes Jason... Dicing up PPIR with you, was the most fun track time I've ever had. More than Laguna and even more than Miller. It was best because I actually felt for a few sessions there, that us fools were actually racing. It was bad-ass.

Last year, after the BBQ. canuck, Soze, notto, and I went for a spin up deer creek and back down 285 for s***s and giggles. It was a short but fun ride. Jason, Notto and I all still had the Happy Tag on our new bikes.

Re: What's the most memorable CSC club ride you’ve ever been on, and why?

Mine's not really the ride, but what happened in between the ride.

Me, Barn, Travis, and a few other peeps went up to Cyclefest to pickup early tickets. Coming back down we stop and get gas, I ask if anyone wants to hit the Central City Raceway and then play some Poker. Everyone was short on funds or needed to get home. I still went to the casino; 45 minutes later i hit a bad beat jackpot worth close to $8k!!!!.
Talk about a high, and paranoi hitting you at the same time. I had the money in cash in my backpack and kept looking over my shoulder to make sure some jackass wasnt trying to run me off the road...def my fastest trip down the canyon, I didnt care if I was to be pulled over. Then triple digits to get home to tell the wife!!!!

My first ride with the CSC back in 2002ish...back when we met off County Line. There was about 7 of us (I only remember Chris aka VFRGuy now Duc'nt It)that were going to the POW/MIA Vet's ride in Cripple Creek. I was on my CBR 929 and coming down Horse Power Hill with a bit too much speed and gravel...dumped the bike with only minor plastic scratches...met back up with everyone at the Deckers Gas Station, put some gauze on my hand and "charlie miked" to Cripple Creek.

Damn, I really need to ride now...I guess i'll have to rent something on two wheels while i'm in Mexico next week!

    That was a great ride.
Now that I think about it, a few weeks shortly after that is when the guy in a super-duty truck did a break check infront of me and KC (mid corner) and we ended up colliding together. Me, KC, Rob, Elden and Mr.Grey were in shock and awe at the $35,000 of beautiful Italian Engineering that were laying in the middle of the road. And my right arm look really sickly the next several weeks.

    Ahhhh, good times
