    Valve Adj

I have some conflicting info re valve adjustments. The service manual says that you should measure valve clearance at TDC on each cylinder and shows a diagram of how the cams should be positioned. Then, it shows another diagram of the cams directly opposite the lifter with the statement that the valves must be measured in this position, which is somewhat past TDC. So, what gives?

That'd be the compression stroke, bro. I have a Haynes and a factory service manual...both are conflicting.
