3/4 of your cylinders actually firing = not good...

Fired up my seca T this morning and noticed it had trouble idling, and then started to sound weird. Felt the pipes.. the inside righthand cylinder (not sure if it'd be #2 or #3 was cold. The other 3 pipes were hot. I could smell and see gas coming out the muffler, so i'm sure gas is getting to it. Now here's the question, spark plug or plug wire?

Pull the plug, hold it close (but not touching) to the frame with it connected to the wire, and crank the bike. Do you see a spark? Also check the plug, might have just fouled out.

Oh, don't touch the frame when you do this, unless you like that tingly sensation in special places...

Sounds like a good plan of attack. Anyone know the difference between a BP8ES and a BPR8ES? something about a resistor? would that cause a weaker spark than the standard?

    Resistor spark plugs
    • The stock spark plug is a resistor-type spark plug, which is indicated by the letter "R" under the NGK letters stamped on the insulator. A 5,000-ohm ceramic resistor is built into the spark plug core to suppress spark-generated electromagnetic noise that can interfere with the car's on-board electronics.
