    IMI Sunday 6/24

I forgot to grab a schedule, but Sunday IMI's hosting a cart race. Don't know for how long or anything but thought I'd post it. I'll try to grab a schedule today.

I'd like to go, but I don't have a leather jacket, pants, nor boots. I only have a tour master jacket. I do have a DOT/SNELL helmet and full fingered gloves and over the ankle boots. I kinda don't want to buy a new suit becaue I'm a couple of months from deployment. Any suggestions.

My goal is not to get crazy, but just refine some cornering skills.

Ken, what size leathers do you wear? I will have my teknic leathers there on saturday if you can fit into them. They are size 44 and I have a couple of pairs of good gloves you can try on to see if they fit. Look for a lil asian fella there.... always will loan out my extra stuff to friends and other members of our armed forces.

Technically the only requirement for IMI is a helmet and jacket (well and $35). For safetys sake it's good to have leathers or at least pants but no one's going to ding you over it (well we might talk about you ).

I think I can fit into a 44. I just wanna experience the track once or twice before we go. And when I return...full leathers is in effect

I just want to set a good example for others to follow, rather than being "thgat guy" that defied the norm for track days.

I'll plan on going to IMI Saturday. If everything works out, I'd like to do a lap or two on the track; however, if you guys suggest otherwise...I will leave it at that and just hang out. Either way...win win

Granted I'm not as experienced as the others, but I think that the fewer the riders (and carts), the less of a chance of a mishap. The last two times I was out, there were 6 or fewer bikes on the track. It's a small track. With 20 or more bikes out, there's an increased possibility of a crash.

Try early for a couple of runs (10am is when they open) and then come back at 4. The paper strip seems to be good for all day. Plus you miss the worst of the heat.

Actually on weekends they open at 9, Kenn, you can try on the leathers and see how the track is if you want. We don't recommend it but if you end up riding with jacket and helmet, we won't hate you for it either

I will have the camcorders (2) with me on Saturday, one for the bike tank mounted, and the other for holding while on the infield.

Let me know out there if you don't want video, or if you do want video, let me know as well. It's actually a pain in the A$$ to film, edit and upload......but always willing to do it for my CSC buddies.

Saturday huh? I may stop by with the bikes for a little. Even though I do hate that track so. Ive been dieing to get the K7 on the track, but Im sure the 600 will be much easier to get around that tiny little guy.

I also have my old suit, and boots, and gloves, and if it fits anyone needing, ill lend it for the day.

DAMN.......and he posts on here hehehe. Justin, your averaging about 1 post every other month. Will be great seeing you out there finally. I can try to follow you around with the tank cam, last time I was in the car, couldn't keep up and camcorder was messing up at Pueblo.

Lol, that was running like 1:44s on the 600 with old tires. Now Im running 1:36 on the 600 (Maybe a 1:35 on the next trip), should be faster on the 1000 (especially with that long straight)
