Bike getting hot...help!

OK, here is the deal, the engine is not overheating or anything, temp seems to stay within the lower ranges of operating temp...it's the actual BIKE that is getting hot.

The frame is getting so hot that I had to stop today after about an hour because my nether regions were getting a tad to hot

Now, last weekend I had the right side fairing off and the bike never got hot at all.

Has anyone drilled holes in their fairing to dispense heat better?

Or do I need to do a flush and fill on the radiator and try some of that water wetter or water ice stuff?

As I said, the bike is not overheating...the frame is getting hot and I am overheating...LOL.

I rode for about an hour 45 today with no problems other than this one.

Which parts are getting hot... the plastics on the sides of the engine or is the heat coming from the engine getting you hot? Engine Ice works great, but its not going to change the heat radiating from the engine much to where you would notice. All bikes are going to roast your nuts and legs unless you are moving to where the heat gets dispersed behind ya. You can always wrap the exhaust with heat wrap, get some heat shield material for between the plastic and the motor.... or just avoid traffic at all costs! :-)

Yeah, consensus is that it's due to ehe way the pipe is routed and just how the bike disipates heat...I may actually drill some holes in teh fairing near the radiator to help...if I can do it inconspiciously.

You should try riding a TLR in the heat, TLR stands for Testicals Lightly Roasting!

Look into the heat shielding and exhaust wrap first before you tear into your plastics. It can actually help quite a bit combined. Other than that you could possibly get a better fan and have it kick on sooner, or manually with a switch.

Heat shielding and exhaust wrap...where would i find that? Regular auto parts or do I need to hit up a motorcycle specific shop?
