    LODGING

To make it easier to be there early in the morning, you may wish to stay in Pueblo on Friday and/or Saturday night. There are a couple of options:

    1) You may camp in the pit area at the track for free.

    2) If you stay in a hotel/motel, the MRA will reimburse each person up to $35 for lodging. This weekend it includes Friday and Saturday nights. If you share a room with one or two people this will usually cover your expenses. --This is a reimbursement only, up to a maximum of $35 per person. For example, if 2 people share a room and the cost of the room was $60, the reimbursement will be $60, not $70.

Listed below are some lodging establishments in the area near the track:
(There are also other establishments that I don't have listed.)

To get good rates call the hotel direct or use
    www.orbitz.com -or- www.lodging.com -or- www.priceline.com

Some of the hotels also offer a special 'PMI' rate for the racetrack.
    --Be sure to ask!

All the hotels listed below are within 15 minutes of the track:

--West of I-25, at exit 102:

    Wingate Inn - (719) 586-9000
***Many of the crew like this one***
    --Good Breakfast -Fresh Waffles

    Rambler Motel - (719) 543-4173

The following are on Elizabeth Rd (frontage rd)
    West of I-25, between exits 102 & 101 (Hwy 50):

    Days Inn - (800) 325-2525, (719) 543-8031
    Econo Lodge (719) 542-9933
    Motel 6 North - (719) 543-6221 (800) 466-8356
    National 9 Inn - (719) 543-4173
    Holiday Inn - (800) 465-4329, (719) 543-8050
    La Quinta Inn - (719) 542-3500, (800) 687-6667

    Super 8 Motel - (800) 843-1991, (719) 545-4104
    Villager Lodge - (719) 543-6820

    Hampton Inn - (719) 544-4700
    Comfort Inn - (719) 542-6868

    -----------------------------------------------
    Directions to Pueblo Motorsports Park:

From I-25, take US-50 (Exit 101) Go West about 2.7 miles to the intersection with Pueblo Boulevard (Route 45), then take Pueblo Boulevard south about 1/3 mile. (it's just a bit past the intersection)

The track entrance is on the west side of the road just past the small 'Motorola' building. You must have a certain amount of faith, since there is nothing visible except the (paved) access road and a steel archway. Stay on the paving and follow the access road around and up and down (continued faith is required) about 1.5 miles to the road course entrance.

Re: Call for Corner Crew -- 5th MRA Race of the 2007 Season

Only requirement is to show up.
You do need to wear long pants to prevent getting burned. You might also bring out some gloves for the same reason. Other than that, you are ready to go.

Someone will walk you through the flags, and if you forget they will let you know what flag you need to be showing via the radio.
They like the corner workers to be in the corners before the track goes hot but I have even been put to work in just the afternoon session. So if the 6:30am is not do-able then come out anyway. The MRA loves their corner workers.

I'll be there. Might be only able to do the Sunday but I'm trying to get my chores done during the week so I can spend both days down at Pueblo.

Re: Call for Corner Crew -- 5th MRA Race of the 2007 Season

There is more information on the MRA website here:

Listed below are the Corner Crew information documents that are online:
    (Clicky, Clicky)
--Additional Info for New and Returning Marshals(The basic info in a Nutshell)
-Detailed Weekend Event Schedule for Corner Crew
    -Complete Training Manual
    -Packet of Required Forms

Though the documents say 2006, all are applicable to 2007 except the schedule itself.

Or if those links don't work...
    http://www.mra-racing.org/index.cfm?action=marshal
(See the list of downloadable files at the bottom of the page
under the heading: "2006 Information" )

But as Doug says, Just show up with long pants, hat, sunglasses, shoes; and we'll take care of the rest....

    Spread the Word!!
We are always looking for more people to be Corner Marshals. The crew is an important part of racing; because without their dedication, there would not be any racing.
