92 fzr 1000 running poor need help

my fzr 1000 runs poorly at higher alt also gets hot
sometimes i have the throttle at full and only get 10200 rpm
also does ia low alt and sometimes will not start at all
but when this happens i dont hear the fuel pump priming
if i rock the bike back and forth in gear i can get it to start
all this happens illregular friends tell me that jets,or fuel pump
i have manual it suggest too many things to try and my abilitys
are limited........so is money......helpppppppp

sounds like all symptoms point to running lean ie fuel pump mot running or plugged jets and I would fix this as soon as possible as it will start to damage pistons and detonateand burn holes in the piston tops

the bike has only 12000 miles on it and is from nebraska

I also have a 1992 FZR 1000, I would try jetting for this altitude and TFog is a good choice

That's not a lot of riding... My guess is the bike sits a lot, ya? Could be you just have some gunk built up in the carbs... First thing you might do, is run half a bottle of carb cleaner with a tank of gas (don't be bashful with the throttle), then use the other half with another tank. See if that doesn't help a bit. Your carb is also 11 years old, it might need to be rebuilt by this point. All pretty simple stuff, relatively speaking.

i got the bike last summer,i put 2500 miles on it before it started running bad.....i assume it sat alot with its prior owner
