    "Super Sonic" Spark Plugs?

Anyone ever heard of or used these things?

    http://www.supersonicspark.com/

I picked up a set, since the guy who makes them is only a couple miles from my house. They are going in the bike Saturday when I finally get off my ass and do the 10K service on Elvira (at 11K miles :: blush :: )

Looking at them, they are just your basic NGK plugs, but there is a small shaped hole drilled through the ground electrode into the center electrode. I talked to the guy who designed them (Mechanical and Acoustic engineer with a string of patents) and his claim is that during the compression stroke, the cup in the center electrode fills with fuel, and as the plug fires it forms a jet of gas that goes through the hole (which is chamfered and looks like a very small jet nozzle) causing it to act as a whistle. That in turn sends a high frequency ultrasonic sound wave through the combustion chamber ahead of the flame front, breaking up fuel droplets in the A/F mix, homogenizing it for better combustion.

The theory seems sound enough, from what I know of physics. I'll post a review in a month or so, when I have a couple thousand miles on the plugs- I'm just curious to see if anyone else has tried these things.

Oh- the price is I think $8 each and if you order them, try and do it online- the guy is deaf as a post and it's a PITA to actually speak to him :: chuckle ::

I have used them for five plus years. I'm happy to speak louder for improved performance.

Looks like another spark plug gimmick to me. The spark is going to go to the closest point and end there. Ultra sonic waves breaking further atomizing the fuel air mixture. Hmmm I just dont see it. Looks like a spark plug with a whole in the electrode.
