Re: Whose riding to work tomorrow?

I rode in this morning. I think it was around 45 when I left the house. First cold ride in a while, but nothing too bad. 30 minute commute. The fingers were a little numb and I wish I had something over my ears (in the helmet). But nothing that a cup of coffee didn't fix.
Don't worry, it only seems kinky the first time.

ride wasnt nearly as cold as I thought it was going to be. Stayed pretty toasty, except for me forgetting to close my helmet vents... I think I froze my bald noggin a bit, good thing its not used much

Piece of cake. I was plenty warm with my left leg getting the worst of it (not sure why though). I had a balaclava on as well but didn't like it. Helmet's still a little tight and my hair looks like crap. I'll just have to keep using a scarf instead.

The Transalp blocked quite a bit more air than the 'busa does, not that it matters a whole lot though.

    Nice ride.

My 5 minute sacrifice to the cold didn't deter from the fun factor. Heated grips are the tits

I ride year round. This morning was a delightful ride to work.
It was high 30s or low 40s when I left. Cars were actually moving. Most of my ride is I-70 to downtown.
+1 on the heated grips. Love that on the BMW.
Best of all is when it gets into the teens and I have the motorcycle parking in my building ALL to myself.
Whimps. Just cause you can see your breath is no reason to not ride to work.

I also had an awesome ride in. Was actually a little too warm in my tourmaster overpants and lined Teknic jacket. It was a beautiful day, fairly quick traffic at 7:30am. I saw a handful of other riders and made good time from Boulder to South Denver (36 to 25 to 225).

I think I'll be taking the lining out for the ride home though. It's warm out!

Re: Whose riding to work tomorrow?

Ok, so riding the Excelsior in today with an open faced helmet was a bit nippy Didnt use my winter gloves either so my fingers got a bit cold. That was easily fixed by just grabbing onto the engine block for a couple of seconds and it warmed them right up Still a nice ride though and this afternoon is going to be perfect for riding home

My Grand Daughter stole the only legal car I had available
so I'm on two till I get something else running or can bring
the Jeep back down from Fairplay.

You can have the Jeep for as long as you need Jeff. I will put the doors back on it an bring it over.

40 leaving the house. The shorts and sandals were somewhat breezy. However the thermal Hawaiian shirt offered plenty of R-value. Glad I had the helmet on. Oh, and the heated grips were most excellent

Why don't they just hire Jeff as the official spokesperson for heated grips?

I rode the long way to work on Thursday…124 miles via BCC, Squaw Pass, CCP, 119 to Golden Gate Canyon. There are def some good things about working a swing shift. Last ride for the Fizzer as she’s really hurtin’ for new valves and rings. Sorry I missed your MotoGP gig today, NN.
