Arrow Whose riding to work tomorrow?

It's supposed to be clear but cold tonight. Likely dropping below freezing. Tomorrow's commute looks like starting right at the freezing mark and then going up to the mid 60's.

I'm thinking about riding to work (80 miles r/t). Anybody else?

Not supposed to be freezing here, but a heavy frost nonetheless.

I'd consider it, if it wasn't such a bitch to get the bike out of the garage right now.

Planning on riding in the morn. The Dub hasn't been out in a week and a half. I love nice weather.

I don't have to work. But was hoping for a mountain ride.

I'm riding. I have the Gerbing's cable over on the Transalp because of the possibility of the clutch going out on the 'busa. Should be fun since I don't even know if tomorrow's a holiday (don't have the company handbook "handy" and I just started). Ah well, if it's a holiday, I'll just have a nice ride home too

Columbus Day. I had it as a day off several years ago but not since becoming a contractor. Now that I'm full time once again, I'm not sure.

Re: Whose riding to work tomorrow?

It used to be a 5 minute walk. Then it was a 30 second shuffle to the home office. Now it's a regular 45-60 minute trip, each way. The good news is that if I ride, I can HOV it. Plus riding is much more fun than driving.

Alas, no heated clothing for me (Gerbing, etc). Heated bars are nice though. Don't think I could handle it without that.

    Good alternative!

Uh.. David, quick question for ya. What's up with the Calvin in your sig line? A touch on the inflammatory side, if you don't mind my saying. Did you drink the water?

well, out of context... it just looks like Calvin pissing on the Mexican flag. Now, I have no particular feeling towards or against Mexico but imagine others might feel more strongly.

I guess I was just wondering if it was a political statement.

As an aside... Here in the People's Republic, I guess I'm just used to seeing radical leftist pseudo-socialist political propaganda. Anything else is frowned upon.

    opie take a look-see here http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forum...ad.php?t=17085

Since the 170 post thread that started all this has been removed so you can't see the whole story.
DofD I would also believe that there is no reason to stir shit with the Mexican community at large when the problem lies with a single person.

Re: Whose riding to work tomorrow?

Really! I think Dr. Freud would say you have some repressed feeling about it.
But seriously, you are right about that I usually see all kinds of nasty bumper stickers like the ones you mentioned. I figured its time I start making some of my own. Heres one that I made right after making that one. I have a blank Calvin now so I can pretty much slide whatever I want under the golden shower.

Its bigger than a thunbnail picture because I want to put it on my truck soon. But you get the idea.

BTW I am so sorry for hijacking your thread.

Re: Whose riding to work tomorrow?

    Whoa.

Well, I'm not venturing into that. Yikes.

Well, ok. Maybe I'll venture in a little.

For what it's worth, I find it very strange when a person (or group) puts allegiance to a foreign country ahead. I mean, if you really feel so strongly about Mexico, Israel, Puerto Rico or wherever... what the F are you doing here?

Back when I lived in NYC, I bore witness to an event called Puerto Rican Day. The city essentially shut down for it. The parade itself was some of the most over-the-top stuff I've ever seen.

And by the way... I'm 1st generation American. The idea of waving the flag of my parent's home country, especially above an American flag, is unthinkable.

I need some winter gear. I wish I had a choice of what to ride. I only have one bike. I sold the other one as soon as I got the ninja.
