My only question is....
Is arroyo a better track than firebird?

Ask hrc25 Mike, I think he's been to Arroyo. I raced at Firebird, it was a decent layout, would be a good track to ride if available.
Good question. I havent been to either but from the layout and pics ive seen arroyo looks like a nicer faciltiy. plus the pics of firebird ive seen looks like a parking lot with cones marking corners? Flyin Monkey was telling newyork1 this samething. So I'm thinking arroyo is the place to go?
Arroyo I believe is an open track. It may be bikes only but there is limited safety people and no cornerworkers. Correct me here if I am wrong.
firebird is an organized track day with all cornerworkers and medical staff available.
Just thoughts.

Arroyo Seco does run sessions. The AZ Tracktime date in February is on Firebird West which is the smallest of the 3 tracks there at 1.1 miles long and shorter than Arroyo Seco. The track day at Firebird will cost you 165 and they are only running on Saturday. Arroyo Seco is 155 for Saturday and Sunday. Plus the drive is about 4 hours shorter each way.
I have raced both. Firebird SUCKS compared to Arroyo as far as safety goes IMHO. Good people, bad safety... Arroyo is an open field.. No hay bails, no concrete, no stands, no nothing...
Firebird main has no airfence for the last corner as it is a drag strip so it is concrete all the way down. Turn 1 is full of ripples that will sheer your left foot peg off. Turn 2 is getting a huge bump at the apex... and hay bails infront of the armco coming into the last corner and protecting you from the grandstands on the back side.
Firebird west has hail bails protecting you from the chainlink fence coming into the last corner before the front straight. and Turn one is pretty choppy. They run session *i was there in November* It is a short track, not very technical if you ask me..
I havent raced firebird east yet.
Arroyo may have the likes of Doug Chandler down there.. He is good Friends with Roger *the owner* Last couple time i have gone down in feb. Doug has been there. Roger has medical staff on site as it is 15 mins to either town...
