    High Plains Raceway GREAT NEWS!!!

This morning the Arapahoe County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved CAMA's USR application for HPR!!

Exactly what does that mean? That means that the final step of the zoning process, far and away the most difficult part of being allowed to build a race track, and our final legal hurdle, is DONE. APPROVED. COMPLETE. FINISHED.

We are scheduled to close on the land next Thursday, the 31st. We will own the land free and clear, and have permission to build. After that step, the ONLY thing keeping us from starting construction is money. So, if you haven't donated, it's time to step up!! More information about the capital campaign and how to donate can be found here --> http://www.highplainsraceway.com/capital-campaign.html

This is a big day for CAMA. While there is a lot of work left to do, it feels like it's all downhill from here!

The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Fine news, for sure. Hopefully, by getting this track up and running it will allow PMI to continue with their efforts for track rehab.

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

Sounds great! Keep up the good work guys!

I forgot, but will this track require "prep" (taped lights, removed mirrors, flushing radiators, safety wire, etc.)?

    Thanks....

No safety wire for street bikes, should be very similar to Pueblo as far as all that goes.

Re: High Plains Raceway GREAT NEWS!!!

CAMA closed on the land yesterday afternoon. This means that, literally, the ONLY thing preventing us from starting construction is the fundraising. We have raised about $455,000 in donations so far, and, ideally, we would like to double that so we can afford all the extra amenities (permanent buildings with bathrooms and showers, RV pedestals in the pits, day garages, etc) that we know everyone wants to have.

Opening schedule is still undetermined since we can't say when construction will start, we still need to raise some more funds. Construction should take about 4 months, plus 4-6 weeks for the pavement to cure before anyone drives on it.

You can fill out and mail in this form http://www.highplainsraceway.com/pdf...ation-Form.pdf with your donation, or you can Paypal a donation to mra_cama@yahoo.com, please put your name, address, etc in the "notes" section so I can make sure you get proper credit for your donation.

We're SO SO SO close, lets make it a reality!!

    Thanks!!

I'm going to make a donation when my tax return gets here. Will HPR have open track days for street bikes often? Seldom? I don't really care to get back into racing($$), but would love to get out on the track a few times a year.
