Not something you see everyday. This photo of Rossi is pretty sharp. It is a good primer for everyone looking forward to their racing season. It is all in the details.

nice pic.
He isn't teching the bike, this is his pre-ride ritual. He is extremely superstitious and always crouches by the right footpeg before mounting the bike...also always from the right side. It's still an awesome photo.
That being said, I'm psyched for the race season and can't wait to get back on the track.
s
^^ Werd, I cannot wait for the season to begin!!

He's saying a prayer--part of his prerace ritual. Look up some more about him in his autobiography.

This was posted as a rider's pre-race ritual on another site:
I drop my Cuban cigar to the ground, and stub it out with the heel of my handmade otter skin boots. Then I wave goodbye to the crowd of teenage girls that are drawn to my animal magnetism. I fasten my helmet, slide on my pure beaver tail gloves and kick the Vincent twin into action in one smooth movement. After checking my reflection in the mirrors (I look rugged, ace) I pull away with the front wheel hovering an inch off the floor for the first half mile.
And there are a few honorable mentions to Rossi's Ritual.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I'm amazed someone hasn't come up with "Dances with Cats" theme.
