Looking for a new back tire

Currently have double dunlop qualifiers. The one on the front is new, the one on the back needs replacing. Would it be a bad idea to go with a totally different brand, other than the dunlop on the rear? Should I go with a new dunlop on the back, because that's what I have on the front?

    Tire size is 180/55/17

    Thanks

Michlien Pilot Powers are the only tire you should ever put on. They have a GREAT grip, and are actually shaped for corning, it seems the tires likes to be on its side tread more than the middle upright tread. VERY good tire! If you go with Pilot Powers, you should do both, because you will have different grips which can make for some funny/dangerous handling characteristics

I would put a Dunlop back on, especially since you are trying to sell it. That would eliminate a cause of concern for a future buyer. I mix brands all the time and never felt it to be a problem. I have a Pirelli on front now and a michelin on the rear right now. As far as the brands, the top names all make a good tire, I generally buy the ones I can get the best deal on. I have ridden on them all and never disliked any except the pilot powers on my motard, they absolutely sucked and I am assuming it is because the bike is so light, because they were great on my Buell.

    Check it.
