    Protect your eyes

Recently, post was made under the "Close Call" section about getting something in the eye even with a full-face helmet and closed shield.

You've most likely noticed that even in the above gear condition that air is still circulating quickly in your helmet. This is good and bad for several reasons. Air movement keeps you from getting too hot and helps remove moisture build-up. One problem is dust particles still fly around the helmet.

When it gets hot and stuffy we tend to "crack" open the visor. This allows even more air and dust in.

A solution may be to add a pair of high-quality riding glasses that have a foam dust filter pad around the lens frame. This, unlike standard sunglasses will keep small debris from flying into your eye around the edges of the frame.

You can spend anywhere from $20-100 for a decent piece of gear like this.

Hey, your eyes are beautiful and you get only one pair. Care for them.

I need to find a pair of those. Would probably help with the contact lens wearers too to alleviate some of the eye dryness.

    Re: Protect your eyes

I know how the stuff getting into a full face helmet goes. I had my visor up and sunglasses on in Yellowstone. I was riding along with my girlfriend back to West Yellowstone when I felt a really bad stinging on my left cheek. I stopped as fast as I could and practically ripped my helmet off. Once I got my helmet off and a bee (dead by that point) fell out of it. I never thought I would get a live bee into my helmet and then get stung by it.
