On the street I wear Joe Rocket GPX 2 and on the track, A* GP Plus. Don't skimp on gear. You'll probably end up regretting it.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Anybody else have really LARGE hands???? I'm lucky if XXL fits in most brands. I'm wearing some Joe Rocket XXL gloves because they are the only pair that fit.
They are better than nothing but I am in serious need of some great gloves that will actually fit.
I have a pair of the spidi penta gloves and love them. Went down once but somehow managed to keep my hands off the ground, probably due to the price i paid for them haha.
These gloves are very soft and need no breaking in also.
Hey Ryno, I have a pair of A stars SP2's I might part with if you want. They have been worn like 10 times. I just dont like the color that much is the only reason I am considering selling them. They are an x-large in Grey. Let me know!
I'm needing a new set of gloves and thinking about these. Anyone have experience with Olympia gear and do you think these would take the abuse of a get off at PMI? They have double thickness leather in the right areas and a wrist strap. The only thing I don't see is the 4th and the 5th digit sewn together. I see the advise for stepping up the coin to a set of A* or Held gloves but cant stomach spending another 100 to 150 more on gloves if these would give just about the same protection.
whacha think?

As with all my gear I went with the best fit and bought the Alpinestars GP Pro gloves. With my other gear, it looks like I will the poster child for A*s. Whatcha think?

I've had A-Stars gloves since forever. I've crashed in them several times at the track and they've held up very well. And just FYI, My A-Stars are 2 sizes bigger than what I'd normally wear just because AStars run very small.
However, I'm now swapping to Spidi since they've really impressed me in various reviews from the UK and those I've tried on seem to fit my hands better.

BTW, I picked up a pair of First Gear mesh gloves (like the JR Phoenix but a little longer to cover the wrist) and they are junk. For me, anyway. They fit nice in the store, but on the bike the carbon fiber knuckles rub against my index knuckles and I'm getting blisters there. It really sucks. I know ya'll probably have better (i.e. more expensive) gloves, but just a warning.
