On the longer rides, I always try to make it to Vail. Blu's Beanery has, what they call Chinese Tootsie Rolls. Egg rolls skins stuffed with cream cheese, shrimp, and green onions. Then lather them in wasabi!

Or, in Steamboat, there are a couple of mexican taverns I can't recall the name of.

Anyone mentioned Vern's in La Porte?

+1 This place great for breakfast also. I made this a frequent stop at the end of last season.

+1 Kathmandu in Nederland, and the burro in Fairplay.

I also like Mustard's Last stand in Boulder, just off Broadway and Arapahoe. There is also the Morrison Inn, with the green awning Downtown [Morrison]--good 'apres-ride' place.

In Estes Park, try Smoking Dave's BBQ on the way to the park out by the Shell Station. It is on the south side.

I must be one of the only people that think this place sucks a fat one. I've tried it 4 times and every time the the food has been bad and the service worse.

Didn't we go to the one down in Denver, Josh? After that one.... um.... "convention".

Yeah, you're right. That place was definitely not all that, and I was all pumped to eat there, too. Oh well...

This reminded me of The Dairy King in Empire, right after you get off I-70 on the way to Berthoud Pass. Ice cream and speedtraps, yum!

    Yep.

Coney Island just west of Bailey on 285. Good stuff! For those of you that are new or just don't know, It's a giant hot dog shaped restaurant. You can't miss it.

    Hmm, sorry.

I hit the one in Aurora nearly weekly and have yet to be disappointed in either food or service.

Backcountry pizza in Nederland has good pie and beer on tap (drink responsibly). In the strip mall as you first get to town headed north on P2P.

Re: Best Places to Ride to Eat?

I found the Walcott Yacht club in Walcott has good grub, cold beer and plenty to look at outside in the summer. A decent loop for us Grand County folks, 40 from Winter Park to 134 outside Kremmling, to 131 south to Walcott. Then express route on 70 back to 40 over Berthoud. Won't take 9, that is sketch.

Speaking of Yacht clubs where there is no lake, the Rand Yacht Club (20 some odd miles south of Walden on 125) is a cool little joint. If its open its usually only in the summer months and Thurs. through Sunday.

The Grand Lake Lodge was mentioned eariler in this thread, I've heard rumors the new owners will have it open this year. If it ever stops snowing.
