    Bike with a history? 01 GSXR 600

Last weekend I picked up a track bike from a guy in Norman, OK. At the time of purchase he told me the bike was built and raced by a guy in Denver. Since I just moved to the area this didn’t mean a lot to me at the time. However when I talked to Jim today at TFOG he immediately recognized the bike just by the tail section. Apparently this bike has a history of winning a few races (or more) and had at least one trip to the infield by a gentlemen by the name of Crash (sp).
I am curious if anyone has any history on the bike or on the previous owner. The bike appears to be a good shape given the year and history. Here is a pic to try and spark a memory or two.
