    Give me the 411 people.

I know about what the drag guys say. Any first hand accounts?

Probably not worth the rubber they're made of.

The "Harbor Freight" tool of tires.

And that's why I want a stack of them. Work and back requires me to have a cheap supply of generic tires.

    Re: Shinko Tires?

i used to run them in OKC, they were the cheapest tire there. i cant remember which model but they were $100 for a 190. very bad tire wear, had to replace them after about 3000-4000 miles, And they took awile to warm up. if I just jumped on after work the tire would slip out on some turns, but after about 20 mins it would be fine.

    Re: Shinko Tires?

I just took a set of 009 "Raven" ShitKos off the Buell.

I can't complain about the mileage- I got 9700 out of the rear, and could have probably gotten another 5K out of the front.

So the wear on the sport touring version is second to none

The profile is round as hell, turns in like old people fuck. They are fairly hard, but I never got them to break loose in a corner- probably because I am just not fast enough to push them hard.

LOTS of rubber on them- I wore so much meat off the rear that it threw my speedo off by 5mph, and let me get the balls of my feet on the ground- and STILL hadn't hit the cords. Damn thing was concave in the center!

The one huge problem I had with them is that they started to crack in the treads like they were dry-rotting about 3-4 weeks ago (least that's when I noticed it). I had them on from mid-June 07 until yesterday.

That's the story on the 009s. I've never run any of the others- maybe in a set or two I'll try the "sport" version.

For a mileage comparison- I got 3000 out of the stock Dunlop D208s before I hit the cords, and 4100 out of a set of Corsa 3s. Cords again, with a squared off front tire in the bargain.

Here's a couple of pics from about 10 days before I took them off:
