    NOOB Ride! Sunday May 18

Well everyone it's that time of year for the noob ride.

For those that are new to the board someone puts this ride on every year (sometimes twice a year) to introduce newcomers to both the board and motorcycling. The last couple of years it's been David (konichd) and myself that have organized this and we're keeping the tradition going. I know that quite a few people look forward to this ride every year, I certainly do.

There's two reasons we put this ride on:

    1) Introduce new members of the club to group rides.
    2) Give people that are new to riding the opportunity to ride at their own level and not feel pressured to "keep up". At the same time these newer riders will hopefully learn a little something from the more experienced riders.

Anybody is welcome to join in on this ride, but I'm going to say this several times between now and then. THIS IS A SLOW-PACED RIDE. If you simply can't handle going at or below the speed limit this ride is NOT for you. There will not be slow/medium/fast groups on this ride. All groups will be at a slow pace. Remember the purpose of the ride.

Gear is required! At the minimum you need helmet, jacket and gloves. If you show up with your helmet strapped to the tail of your bike I'm going to ask you to skip this ride.

    Details:

    Sunday May 18
    Time: Pre-ride at 9:45, leaving at 10:00
You need to be ready to go before 9:45. That means gassed up and all other "maintenance" shit together. We leave a few minutes after the pre-ride speech, and NO, we're not waiting on YOU because YOU don't have your shit together.
Place: Morrison Conoco (Northwest Corner of C-470 and Morrison Road)
    16283 Morrison Rd, Morrison, CO
Route: Will be shared with everyone during the pre-ride.

Please post up if you plan on attending.

We'll need several leaders and sweepers as we tend to get over 50 bikes involved in this ride and need to split into groups of about 8. If you can lead or sweep please post up and PM me.

I look forward to seeing you all at this!

ERC course is that day, so I'll be torn between which to attend. Now if you were having a BOOB Ride then I'd be there, hands down!

I am "n00b" to the board, but not really riding. I do not know what your sweeping policy is with new members, but I did over 250 miles sweeping/leading with Grandpix during the Victory Truck Demo thing this last weekend, plus all the other days we demo out Victory bikes.

I will be there for the ride no matter what, but I figure I could offer my assistance for sweeping.

You couldn't do this on the 17th instead? We have the ERC class scheduled for the 18th...

I'd really like to do both.

A lot of dealership people only have Sundays off, so if it does get moved, it should be to week before or after. I agree though, a lot of members are going to be split between these events including myself.

Weekend after is an MRA double header, so probably the weekend before, if Sunday-only is a requirement.

^^^Fuck it Brian, leave it as is, people are all big boys and can do what they want. You won't make everyone happy and by constantly changing the date and time people are going to become confused.

The 18th @ 9:30 or your SOL and can go fuckin' cry to your mommy you missed out on the big boy ride.

+1 for 18th, most people have Sunday off from work.

And +1 for not moving dates all the time, someone will always have something conflicting with the other plans, you just need to prioritize.

I figure I'd change for a CSC-type event, but I think you're right I'll probably just confuse folks.

    18th it is.

Well, a noob ride on the same date as a noob class... sucks to have to pick one or the other when I need both.

I'll be sad to miss one or the other. I'd been planning on taking the class and likely still will but the noob ride is a lot cheaper...

You still don't have 500 miles on that baby yet ? I'm sooo ashamed of you... lol j/k

Paulie.. normally, we don't post the ride route ahead of time. You just have to follow the n00bs... the group or rider ahead of you should wait until you arrive at each turn anyway.
