Held Tank Bags? Or other hardmount tank bags?

Anyone have any experience w/ lockable tank bag setups?

The S3 has a plastic tank which renders my Joe Rocket bag useless and I hate having straps hanging all over the bike. I also can't stand wearing a backpack on longer rides.

So what options does that leave me?

Well, I've see the lockable setups that mount to a ring around the gas cap. Kind of expensive, but would solve my problems.

Anyone use or have used these?

To further clarify, the reason for the tank bag is for easy access to identification. Since I work at Buckley I need to have like 30 ID's to get to work. Every gate wants a different set and it's a royal PIA to dig through pockets w/ frozen fingers searching for specified ID.

Tank bags allow for one stop easy access for whichever the ID de jour is.

While saddle bags would certainly accomplish the need to drag stuff around w/ me, they wouldn't fulfill my main needs.

This won't solve your tank bag problem, but I thought this might interest you...

Because the only thing better than a motorcycle that enhances the rider experience is being able to stay out there and enjoy it longer.

    Jason Jason Jason...

I know where you live and I've seen where you sleep. Your parents are going to cry when they see what I've done to you!

BTW, anyone know a good place in Utah to dispose of a body?
