Laid over R6, partout or rebuild

(disclaimer: if this is the wrong forum, please move or redirect me. i sat and stared at all the choices for way too long w/o a clear sense of which was best. not selling or buying, just looking for advice)

I have a laidover low mileage '03 R6 in my garage that I need to shit or get off the pot with. Damage is moderate but mostly cosmetic. Frame is straight, title is clean. ~3000 miles.

Things i know need replaced : rear subframe, upper left cowling, headlight assembly, gas tank, gauge bracket, and a handful of little things here and there. I estimated $1500-$2500. Clearly wildly estimated.

I also estimate that the bike is worth about $5k before, and there's probably, lets say for convenience sake, $2500 worth of value in the parts remaining.

That puts me in no clear direction to lean in a decision on whether to part-in or part-out. I'm all ears for input, suggestions, etc.

    Thank you

Really depends on what you want to do for a bike, what you owe on it, and how much more money you're willing to spend.

You could probably get $3k+ for the parts if you parted it out, or spend another $1500 or so putting it back to rideable condition. (Depending on your ebay luck, and what you want to do, streetfighter for example)

Personally, I would part that out and by a different bike, but that's just me.

If you do part it out, I'd probably be interested in the frame.

Don't you have anything better to do then to spend $$ and time? School? Kids? Friends? Girls? Boys? Playing checkers?

    It's a good project bike. You'll probably mike a little $$..

If this were me I'd part it out, I just have too many other things I'd rather be doing.

    OR....

Get another R6 for the track and use this one for parts.

    Like I need your support
