I am actually sexually exicted. PPIR was one of the reason I wanted to move here, and I was crushed when I found out it was closed.

While I am totally psyched about this news, and I hope it continues to get better, they are only talking about racing in the parking lot here, not out on the racetrack itself.

Dan, any info on the purchase, the new owners or anything? That they are actually running an event on the 27th is AWESOME!

    Re: The return of PPIR

I'm quite frankly surprised there's anything left down there resembling a race track... I figured that after Nascrap cleaned out what they wanted, the meth heads from southern CO would have gone to work on the place years ago, cleaning out anything that could remotely resemble something of value.

    Re: The return of PPIR

Every time I drive by it I miss the hell out of it.. I was gonna give an AMA race a shot there in 2006, but then the bad news... There has been a lot of talk about PPIR and the new owners "plans" at this point, nothing more than rumor... but many orgs in CO both 2 and 4 wheel have been trying to get at the minimum club racing back in that facility.... At this point.. count it to nothing more than...... "oooooo What if"

BEST AMA RACE EVER!! The best part was the look on the fire guy's face when he hopped out of his truck with a bucket full of tampons. Also funny was when a cornerworker put ketchup in said bucket...

Right, part of the conditions were that no Pro race event shall be held there... but have herd a slight possibility of some club racing there... This is a glass half full idea though.. There is NO reality at this point of club racing taking place ON the actual track itself.... If you want to race in a parking lot.. Im pretty sure there are several Walmart parking lots big enough.. Snag some cones and lets go race....

If Larry Miller had never bought PPIR to just close it to promote Miller Motorsports Park, PPIR would still be open today. One of the reasons I moved out here was the track, so I am excited to hear this news.

Does Larry Miller own ISC ??

"On September 30, 2005, it was announced that the track had been bought by the International Speedway Corporation. ISC shut the facility down in November of that year and petitioned NASCAR to move the track's Busch Series date to Martinsville Speedway for 2006. "

    ISC:
International Speedway Corporation (ISC) is a corporation whose primary business is the ownership and management of NASCAR race tracks. ISC was founded by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr. in 1953 for the construction of Daytona International Speedway and in 1999 they merged with Penske Motorsports to become one of the largest motorsports companies in North America.[

    Re: The return of PPIR

Larry Miller Owned CRD up north and closed it.. but not to promote Miller Motorsports Park... He closed it because they wouldnt let him put Miller Motorsports Park on THAT site... (and several other related reasons)

CO didnt want his 35+ million so Utah kindly accepted it.....
