    Steering Damper Suggestions

Anyone have any suggestions for a steering damper? I was looking at a Scotts damper but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on any others.

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Re: Steering Damper Suggestions

There are lots of good choices out there.

I have an Ohlins linear damper on the duc racebike and think it's the bomb. Really smooth and consistent, easy to adjust on the fly, fits up just like it should.

A also have a GPR V1 rotary damper on the R6. Easy to install and adjust, not quite as smooth.

That being said, if you walk around the pits in the MRA and you find a silver GSXR with a big #1 on the front of it, you will notice that he's using the GPR damper as well...so, I guess it's pretty good!

    Hope that helps

According to the last squid thread steering dampers are for squids.. With that being said id go with the scotts because of the adjustability.

I had a Scotts top mount on my last bike. Worked great.

Currently have an Ohlins linear mount, I like it even better. As Scott said, VERY SMOOTH.

My teammate had a GPR on his. Brand new and started leaking. The company did repair it only after he mailed it to them. Could have been just a bad unit, who knows.

I have an Ohlins linear as well and it is definitely smooth and does not leak. Jenn has a Scott's on her 636 and it is also nice. The only upside I see with the Scotts is that it is less prone to damage than my linear Ohlins which is bolted to the side of the frame. Not to say the Scotts wouldn't get f'd up during a highside.
