I would hope to go as fast as my bike will take me, but I only have a mesh suit, no leathers to speak of.

must haves: LEATHER JACKET, leather gloves and over ankle boots. good tread and chain guard, helmet (for those who couldnt guess)

leather bottoms needed only if you break over 130 mph. which on a stock bike is unlikely.

Well it doesnt even need to be a leather jacket I know a few that race in textile down there. But anyway Jim its nice to know you dont need a helmet lol. But I believe its anything over 120 you have to be in either a onepeice leather suit or a two peice as long as it zips all the way around.

    Re: gear for pmp

well i thought a helmet was a given. i did quite a bit of drag racing my bike and i was told leather. and the bottoms dont actually have to zip. i know cause one day i actually used a buddies chaps cause i didnt have leather bottoms. and i couldnt remember for sure if it was 120 or 130 but either way, unless you have a newer 1000 its not too likely you will break that speed. especially if your shooting out of the box right.

Just helmet, boots, jacket and gloves you should be fine. If you do go over 120/130 they will let you know and kick you off the track till you get the right gear

Were not wrong they are just lucky they didn't get kicked off. Its a matter of who is working the box that gives you your time slips. Also how do you know what MPH there trap speed was? Also an ATV can't do anywhere near a buck 30 and if the Busa and 1000 didn't have someone that knows what they are doing they don't stand a chance at breaking 130. I know people that have been kicked off the track.

    Also I do an 8 sec 1/8th mile and a 13 sec 1/4 mile at 102mph

How long do you think the strip is at PMI? cause an 1/8 mile is only half the track a 1/4 mile is the total length of PMI. My 1/4 mile time is a 12.8 at 102.

Now that I think about it my 06 GSXR 1000 would do 103 in first gear... so the speedo said but thinking about it I wouldnt even have to get out of second or third gear to do a quick 1/4 mile time.

Check the date on your lid too. At Bandamier it could only be 3 or 5 years old I can't remember.
