Need camping suggestions along the front range

I'm looking at heading to Colorado in a few days (Aug 7-10) and am looking for some camping suggestions along the front range. I'm kind of new to the whole camping experience. The only thing I'm looking for is not to stay too far up into the mountains since next weekend is looking to be a little cooler. I'd rather stay more in the foothills somewhere rather than up in the higher elevations where I'd be a lot more likely to get some colder temps overnight. Bathrooms and showers would be nice but not completely a necesity every night. Cheaper, and or free, is a little more appealing to me.

Here's my tentavie schedule and looking for caming in these general areas.

Thrusday night, Colorado Springs-Manitou Springs-Cascade area.

Friday night, western Denver-Evergreen-Idaho Springs area.

Saturday night, Fort Collins-Loveland area.

Basically looking at riding the front range durring the day and camping a little lower at night.

Golden Gate state park is pretty nice and its not that high of elevation. Plus that would give you great access to Golden Gate Canyon and the Peak to Peak HWY. Remarkable riding this time of year in that area.

^^ I've done the Peak-to-peak a couple times, but I was looking at doing Hwy40 then Hwy34/Trail Ridge Road. I've been to Estes but never into Rocky Mountain National Park. Looking forward to that part of my ride. Golden Gate SP might work as a starting point for that morning's ride.

Northern camping spots would include all the camping areas along the Cache la Poudre river on hwy14. There's plenty of them that are lower in elevation. I'm not so sure about showers, though.

Then you've got the KOA in Estes along hwy34 on the East side of town.

There's also the Jellystone campground along hwy36 going up to Estes.

Road 27 (aka, Stove Prairie Rd.) is a nice jaunt in between hwy34 and hwy14 as well.

If your going to be on Hwy 34 you can camp at Carter lake just off 34 west of Loveland.
