Has anyone used that new Mobil 1 full synthetic oil for bikes? I've been using AMS oil mainly but saw the Mobil 1 oil at checkers the other day and thought I'd ask, see if it was worth it....

Yes. it works very well. Buy it at Walmart. No need to use "motorcycle" oil.
I have been running Castrol Syntec for a lot of miles. a LOT of miles.

Mobil 1 is very good oil.
Just make sure your bike doesn't have an issue using full synthetic.
My Barnett clutch kit recommended syth blend only. But I've heard others say they've had no problems running full syth.
Oh yeah, don't use anything that says high mileage, etc. You want the type with NO detergents or additives.

I use full synthetic AMS oil right now and it makes the bike run good. All I use in my car is Mobil 1 and man I love that oil, talk about quality. I just didn't know if I could use the same Mobil 1 car oil on the bike and have no problems. I supposed that bikes and cars used different blends or formulas of oil

I used to run mobil 1 syn in my bike but stopped.. I don't like how dirty it comes out looking and it made the back seem to tick more. The clutch also made more noise. I run nothing by Castrol syntec now and change it ever 2000miles. Comes out looking just like it went in. You should avoid using oils that say "energy conserving" on bikes due to the fact we have wet clutches.
I've been running 5W50 full syn for 6000 miles with no problems.

I use Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w-40 in both my bikes. I think it's worth it.
I've also used Mobil 1 in my previous bikes and have never had any problems in tens of thousands of miles.

Stupidity should be painful.
I'm gonna try the Mobil 1 this oil change and see if it makes a difference

I don't run anything but Mobil 1 in the car. In my Elantra its worth the gas savings alone.
I ran Mobil 1 in the Ninja 250 and it liked it just fine even with the friction modifiers. If your clutch feels funky with Mobil 1, follow highpsi03's advice and stay away from anything that says "Energy Conserving"
I am running Castrol Syntec (which doesn't have the friction modifiers to my knowledge) in the ZX7 right now but I haven't had the chance to put enough miles on it to know anything. Stupid carb floats
I'm running Mobil 1 10W-40 in my 919 and it's awesome. Even smoothed out the clunky noise typical of Honda transmissions. I put 15-50 in my wife's Monster just because it's air cooled and it gets bloody hot here. It makes a huge difference, and she only needs to use the cold start lever for about a minute before it holds idle without it, compared to about 3-5 minutes before. This is even when the ambient temp is in the 60s.

I hear the Motorex factory looks more like a Swiss watch place than an oil manufacturer... That's all we use for suspension fluid.
I've used the Mobil 4t bike oil with no problems. And for the longest time I ran the regular red cap Mobil 1 car oil in my old VFR with no problems what-so-ever...
I have a question about using no detergent 30 w oil? It says its go for motors made before 1930. Is that the no detergent stuff you are talking about? Its for a dirt bike and I need something I can get on a Sunday.

I have no idea what makes an oil "good" or not. I can't feel performance difference between dino oils and synthetic oils, and I change my oil often enough that it probably doesn't matter if I use olive oil versus some high dollar swedish product. However, that being said, I notice in my clutch pull the different types of oil and the amount of noise from my clutch. On a big v-twin, the bike finally got quiet when I went to a synthetic. On my motocross bike it's nothing but synthetic. The dino oils are sticky, I noticed this when I pulled apart the clutch. My clutch was very difficult to operate. Since switching to the Mobil 1 synthetic motorcycle oil, I finally have a clutch I can use more easily, and it's quiet. The mobil 1 is relatively cheap at Autozone and there's one really close to my house, so I'm sold in this stuff. It doesn't make me a faster rider, but my left hand is happier.
Don't worry, it only seems kinky the first time.
I just read something about using any oil as long as it doesn't have EC on the star label on the back. Energy Conservation oils will hurt the clutch. It also said that I could use gear oil in the tranny of a dirt bike.
