If Spies ends up 19th or better at Laguna then it is a mute point. If something happens to Spies there then the controversy will begin.

Well, as I mentioned before, the Gaytona Motor Group has a history of coming down on riders that speak out against the establishment, so it's not really a surprise to me. Especially as they have been very tight with the details of the DQ's and the appeal. Guess we'll never know. Hell, Yosh ought to boycott the last races just to give Spies and Mladin a break since 1st and second are sewn up, and let the guys on other riders have a chance to win. It might stop the whining...........nah, probably not.....

    More news:

Pretty telling considering the appeal was denied within 30min of submission:
"It makes us question the integrity behind the enforcement of the rules and suggests that there was never an intention to assemble an appeal board to conduct an objective and impartial hearing. From all appearances, the AMA had clearly made its decision well before 5:00 p.m. The 'deadline' was obviously a ruse to create the impression of fairness."

Glad they enforced the rule book regardless of who it was breaking the rules... Congrats to Spies...

Honestly, the way it's all been shrouded in secrecy, nobody's sure WHAT they enforced. It's BS. If he's cheating, fine, throw the book at him, but don't make stuff up because he's an outspoken critic of the DMG.....like they do to NASCRAP drivers that buck the system. the last thing we need is that "Good 'Ole Boy" system being implemented.

I have to agree. If Mat broke the rules he should be punished. I dont care who you are or who you ride for, no one is above the rules. However the way this is being handled stinks to high heaven. This is really sounding like NASCAR where drivers learn early that you dont criticize NASCAR or you will pay the price
