That's the way to word it.
Don't like him, fine. But you should only boo a guy if he's a foul rider or a cheat.
(Here come the pics of Repsol: Spanish for Teamwork.)
I disagree.
The middle of the field and back of the pack might change up dramatically if they banned all the rider assistance technology.
But the top riders would still be the top riders with or without TC, FBW, etc.
If a margin of victory of over 13 seconds is all about the bike, and nothing about the rider,
everyone would be on a bike with similar technological tricks.
That being said, I do beleive they should reduce the amount of techno-magic allowed.
Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls would scarcely get your feet wet.
I'm all for a reduction in techno wizardry on the bikes. The Rossi proposal is that there is a hard cable from the throttle tube to the throttle bodies. TC would still be allowed, but would be a "back end" system much like the MRA guys are using. I think any technological advancement should be applicable to the advancement of the street bike. The current tech has individual fuel maps for each corner controlled by GPS and in WSBK last round GPS controlled damping adjustments by corner for the bikes so equipped. None of this is usable on the street, only on the racetrack where track surfaces, conditions and corner geometries are well known.
Rider selectable maps from the handlebars - useable
Computer selected maps by GPS - not useable
All that being said I truely believe that the best riders will usually win the championships. What a rider IS starts to come into question as the bikes become more computer laden. Is the best rider the one who knows how to use the software the best?
I don't believe that Casey Stoner was the best rider on the grid last year, but he did have the best bike. The software package Ducati had was way ahead of everyone else. Good on them for developing it. I don't think he or Dani or Jorge would be doing nearly as well in the championship as they are if those advances were removed. I think riders like Hayden and Melandri would be doing better, and I think Rossi would clean the plate even more efficiently than he currently is.
The best move for Moto GP right now is to LEAVE IT ALONE! All of the teams are starting to catch up to Ducati and if you change the rules then one team will once again get the jump on the rest of the field. It's just now starting to equalize, with Suzuki even seeing the podium from time to time. Kawasaki clearly still has some work to do, but the gaps are getting smaller.
If there HAD to be rule changes, then I would suggest the following:
1) I like the rossi rule for a hard cable from the throttle tube to the throttle bodies.
2) Remove the tire selection rule. Limit the number of tires a team can use, but don't make them pick the exact tires at the start of a race weekend.
3) Make it so that all data for the bike is a one way communication - Bike can transmit, but not recieve. GPS data for lap timer might be OK, but nothing "active" (meaning that it adjusts the bike in any way)

I like that idea, it would be a great measure.
Though it might be hard to argue +/- on some technologies.
As for the rest of your Cult of Rossi personality points.....I disagree completely.
Not on any arguement based on factual points I could raise.
But based purely on the fact that I'm gonna owe you a dollar.

I'm sorry I offended you and your flat brim hats. It's not called style, it's called trend and if you're doing it. Then welcome to the trend.
Yeah I'm sure it's cool in the hip hop or pop culture world but to the rest of civilized America we just shake our heads at you, wondering when in the hell you're going to put a curve in the bill of your hat.

Ban traction control? well first you have to define it, second the new ZX10 has it stock (as well as launch control with the Kawi kit ECU), ban fly by wire throttles? lots of bikes have those so you guys want to ban technology that comes stock on 2008 street bikes
MotoGP is supposed to be the leader in technology, not the follower
It is what it is
I hope that technology does not take the soul out of riding or racing motorcycles.
As far as Pedrosa's is concerned his soul was removed by a car driver.

Ummm, which Pedrosa are you talking about?

Nobody likes Dani except me.....only his mother and I truely understand him.
I can see people not liking his personality (if he can claim to have one) but you can't deny he can ride a bike.
Shit, I'd give my right nut to be able to ride like him.
(Though it might take several additional body parts for me to drop down to his 112lb weight.)
Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls would scarcely get your feet wet.
Hey Jeff, I thought you WERE his "Mutha"!
I'd only have to give my left nut to get down to his body weight.....
Well, I can't say I'm a fan, but I totally respect his ridig ability. As shown, I believe he's better than Nicky, just hasn't had quite the consistancy for a MotoGP title with some of his injuries.

Ok i forgot about the 2 stroke classes. I had thought he only won 250 once.
But still...
He said he wants a wall put up in the pits next season between him and whoever else is in there and this was BEFORE he switched to bridgestone.
and a #2 plate is great and all, but he was like 100 or more points behind? Im not sure exactly how much.
and don't forget how he tried to sabatoge Hayden 2 years ago beacuse he was so jealous!!! jk but thats another reason why i hate him.
