    Re: contraversail famous person??

yeah picking someone I dont like is the easy part... i can go on and on one people I dont like
    hitler
    kayane
    paris
    Hilary Clinton
    Manson
    Michael Jackson
    Domer

Martin Luther might be a good one though... I really wanted to Molly brown but I just dont think she caused enough controversy. She definantley broke rules of the female high society behavoir. But Need more substance.

If I cant pick a person I like I may have to go the easier route on someone I dont like.

like maybe someone might ask the question about a person...Hero or Not

Martin Luther King is too easy, half the class will probably write about him.
You really can't be having such a hard time with this, history is littered with famous controversial figures! I would stay away from pop-culture icons, unless they made waves about something that was important.

    Tom Martino?

On one hand, a working man's hero... always sticking up for the little guy

On the other, a complete asshat scum sucker who has been accused of using the same business practices that he destroys others for.
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

^^ Perfect! You've got insight to a figure that no one else gonna have! If you can't put together 5 pages on someone you've worked for then you're gonna have a hard time in the rest of that class!

    Controversial Famous Person

I'm guessing Tom Martino isn't all that famous.

It depends on how you classify famous. Tom is pretty famous in the Denver area. Heck Randy, you're pretty famous on the CSC!

Eh, degrees of reknown. I would count local celebrities as famous, albeit to a lesser degree than a president or prominent national political figure or icon. He made it into Wikipedia so it could be argued that there is another degree of poplularity.

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were in the news again recently. And their story leads right into Joseph McCarthy's rampage on American society.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
