    Grand Mesa and Black Canyon

The interesting stuff started on the north slope heading south.

We got into Mesa lakes and got cabin.

We then grabbed our fishing gear and caught lots of Brook Trout-about 30 of them before the sun went down. We were going to keep a few but had lots smoked sausage and other goodies so it was all catch and release.

Next day I loaded up the XX

and headed across the mesa, down the south side towards Cedaredge.

After getting through Cedaredge I headed for the north rim of the Black Canyon.

hwy 92, which I think is one of the nicest pieces of tarmac in Co.

From there it was a run down Blue Mesa, the largest body of water in Co. Then through Gunnison. Being lower in elevation its fall colors are just coming in.

And then up Monarch Pass and home. It was a great fall run. Gotta do it next year!
