Have all what then? (no idea what you meant there.)
All the things listed in your post that you still have today. Are you going to have in the future?

I didn't just bitch, I debated with (and yes, occasioanally jabbed at) rational people of opposing opinions like Linda, Shea, and Chris.
And I campaigned and voted to change the direction the Bush administration took this country.
That's what we do in this country. We debate, argue, rally, and ultimately come together to try and build the country that we want.
    Me too.
To quit what? (no idea what you're getting at.)
Are you going to quit bitching about politicians? You got what you wanted "the one" by coming together and complaining about everything that is wrong with the world and how its Bush's fault. I was just wondering if you can quit or has it become an addiction. (I guess this goes out to all the complainers out there.)

The real wonderment right now, that is affecting me at this moment, is the idea that a dream has actually been realized in my lifetime. After all the naysayers, all the put-downs, all the negativity...one ideal has actually won out. That's the pixie dust I can see.

Aside from that, I certainly hope Obama has the strength to weather the huge storm that's been created. I know he's going to need a whole bunch of support. I'm curious to see who he appoints to help in this presidency.

On last night's speeches...McCain was gracious. Obama didn't miss a beat in reminding us, we've got a huge mountain of problems to overcome. It can happen when we all work together...that is something people need to come to grips with.
1: +1 On everything quoted!!! Thanks, MtnAir for reminding us what is important is mutual respect, cooperation, and recognition that some things are able to be accomplished only with a great leader and lots of backup.

2: McCain earned my respect last night with his concession speech.

3: To all those who voted for McCain, Obama said last night that your voice will still be heard. I hope you hold him to it, but only if you choose to speak up rationally, intelligently, and with class. This thread is pretty much an example of the type of discussion that shouldn't be heard (and doesn't deserve to be).

I might actually have to vote for a Republican next time through just to keep the checks and balances in place.

I gave up those leathers so piliot could have them. Damn selective memory. I have never made it a secret that I am poor. Hell I love it. But it looks like Jeff already bought a yesman what does he want with me?

    Yeah exactly.

Funny how I get put down every time I sound like a naive dreamer, but with what the majority of Americans said yesterday is that it's ok to dream and work to make it reality.

Holy Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick.

I just had an epifinaty..... What is worse than loosing the Presidential election?

Winning the Presidency. Can you imagine that stressful job? That would suck.

No thanks. So maybe McCain really did win? Anyway the real winners are anyone that is NOT the president that has to dig the US out of this mess that BUSH made.

To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Who creates the tension, Shea? You? or me? It's only tension when someone refuses to compromise. This isn't about you and me. This country was built on "us" and "we".

We should make a drinking game out of it. Every time we hear honeymoon we take a shot and every time we hear political capital we drink from our beer. We will will be drunker than the drink when Pirates of the Caribbean does something gay game.
