Seems like Spies is liking the Yamahas...

Spies Fastest During World Superbike Testing Tuesday In Portugal

PORTIMAO, Portugal (Nov. 4, 2008 ) – Three-time American Superbike Champion Ben Spies completed his first day of testing Tuesday on the factory Yamaha R1 World Superbike machine at the Autodromo Internacional Algarve. Spies was encouraged by the performance and handling of the Yamaha, in spite of the fact that the machine is still very early in its development.

Considering only Bayliss and Haga had faster lap times during the final race I'd say he's getting along pretty good!

I'm wondering how he's going to do next year? Top 5?

Spies rocks, it's no surprise. Suzuki is stupid for losing him and Hopkins. Spies should be in MotoGP alongside Hopkins.

Well, if Spies considered himself a racer and not a rock star, he may have a GP ride... cocky will only get you so far.

Can't wait for the '09 season of World Superbike.

Its going to be a very interesting year with all of the "A" list riders and with Aprillia and BMW involved.

Too bad that I already know that I'm going to be out of area when World Superbike comes back to Miller.

Too bad there isn't more money in WSBK. Josh Hayes repordedly turned down some nice Supersprot rides because the money was 1/4 of what he made in the states. Too bad because he was kickin ass in what little time he had on WSBK supersport ride. Hell he even led some laps!

Hopkins is overrated, hell Melandri was doing Hopper's lap times after one day on the Kawi. Suzuki can have him back if you ask me. but don't forget I have 3 nice suzuki's ready for rental!
