1080p does look.....never mind.
I have the 56" rear projection DLP that I bought for 1200 bucks earlier this year.... Its freakin amazing with HDMI, standard cable its very nice, but you need to be at least 7 feet back.
1080p and 120hz is what you want

Costco and Best Buy are having big deals on 42" 1080p sets.. Looking at one for my bedroom in the new house.. We'll see how early I get up tomorrow..
Also, go to Circuit City in Boulder. I talked with the assistant manager and he cut all my stuff down to cost or below on a new Onkyo reciever, two Klipsch towers, center channel, and sub.. Got 2500 bucks worth of stuff for 1200 otd..
Will you do it for me, King A/V Club?

I love this forum!
Anyway King, the prices that I paid for my A/V stuff were well below anything I could find online. Amazon, BHPhoto, etc.. Even eBay with the 25% off couldn't beat it..
I thought I did good.. lol Oh well.
Anyone know someone who does TV wall mounting and wire running? I'm moving into the new house next week, and could use a hand.
Yo Gregger. When/If you find somebody who does a good job with your wall mount, can you let me know? I assume there's a reasonable amount of skill involved with drilling holes into walls for the purpose of holding up a TV.
Anyway, let me know if you find a good hookup on that, and I'll keep trolling this thread. I figure this'll work out better than me trying to mount my TV and articulating arm into drywall.

Barn- That's kinda where I'm at too. I'm sure I could get a stud finder, and the right hardware, and do it myself, but for a new house, I'd rather pay a bit and have it done right...
Here is a good link to your cables/wall plates.. http://www.monoprice.com/products/su...04&cp_id=10425
Smokin' prices on quality HDMI and other cables. Got those, my HDMI wall plates, speaker plates, and I actually ordered my mount from them too.

Lots of good info. to be found here.... http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/

Good call. That's one of my favorite sites, by a long shot.. I spent a year doing research before I bought my Samsung LCD, and that site has it all!
I probably have more posts there over the last two years than on NASIOC, and I spend a lot of time in the OT section. lol

Can I get in on that deal too? That's exactly what I'm looking for!
Just need to mount the screen, fish the wires, put a nice little wall panel on the top and bottom, and run the coaxial from the other wall to the TV wall, and then run the sub cable to the other wall.. Easy right? lol
Thanks Doug, I will let you know. I'm trying to find the best HDTV/PC Monitor/DVD Player combination, and then I'll pull the trigger. Toshiba and Insignia are in the lead currently. I'm leaning towards Insignia, just because they have larger ones. Toshiba stops at 22 inch.
What do you know about Insignia?

What's your budget, room size, TV size preference, and HDTV accessories (PS3, Bluray player, 360 ect?)
You can use just about any LCD as a monitor.. I plug my macbook pro into my 52" Samsung all the time..
Trying to keep it between the $500 and $600 range. It's going to be a multi-purpose unit for watching TV in the bedroom, but primarily for just being my PC monitor.
Our bed faces X, but the computer desk is setup for viewing the monitor Y, so that's the only reason I need the articulating mount. The built-in DVD player will just be a nice bonus so that I don't have to boot-up the PC every time we want to watch a movie.

Gotcha...There are a TON of good HD LCD's to get for your application, especially at that pricepoint. I'd stay away from the low end Toshiba's and especially the Insignia's...
This lower end Sony Bravia is 499 right now..

This Sammy panel is also in your range..

That's just from a quick look at Circuit City's site.. I guarantee you can find better deals elsewhere..
Buy the TV first.. Use it as a monitor second. Unless you do any big gaming, the 4-6ms response times will be fine.
Even though Doug is on the rag today his point was that he does A/V installation for a living. He just bad about advertising to others that he moonlights with that title as well.
RIP Gene. You are a good friend that will be missed. I'm Gene Bazyl Bitch!!
