Different plane. The one you're talking about from the article was an aerobatic plane (that Dean was talking about), which I wouldn't touch given the wing spar damage. Sucks for the guy that bought it.

The one he 'chuted from and chucked into the Florida swamp was a Piper Malibu, a rather nice single engine aircraft anywhere from $600K to over $1Mil depending on piston/turboprop engine and other options. The article doesn't mention this plane, but it was in previous reports of this incident (been following it on a flying forum).
