Is the '09 Supermoto season really cancelled?

Just found this on the Rocky Mountain Supermoto website:

Dear RMS Club members,

Due to recent politics within the club and a lack of support by some key of the members of the RMS, I have decided to cancel the 2009 season. I started RMS for kids to and racer enthusiast have a chance to learn to race and to have fun. Recent events have made me doubt the direction that members wanted the club to go in. Certain members seem to think that they have all the answers but are unwilling to get off their butts and do the work that is required to run such a club.
As the founder of RMS, I have a vested interest in maintaining my vision of the club. The original vision was to have a club where member s could have fun racing and promote the sport. I setup the club to protect that vision. The bylaws are there to protect it from rouge members that want to change it.
I know that this will be a big loss for the racing community. Our club has tripled in size since its inception. The prize money has also grown. Racers had the opportunity to win over $65,000 in prizes last season. For those of you with a D in math here is how it breaks down.
  1. $35,000 in Michelin Tire Money
  2. $3,500 in trophies
  3. $15,000 KTM bike
  4. $1,500 cash at each event (X 10 events)

TOTAL of $68,500
Prizes like these do not grown on trees. All of these prizes were available despite the fact that we had 3 major sponsors pull out due to the economy. This club has run at a loss every year but we are able to run a quality program. I am unwilling to put in the time, effort, or money when there is so much negativity in the club. Quite frankly, I feel that this is a thankless job and that no one really understands what it takes to run this club.
Recently, my father and best friend, passed away. This has caused me to reflect on what is really important to me. I am not willing put in the time, effort, or money, just to be criticized and slandered by members of my club for my efforts.
I would like to thank Will and Penny for all that they have done for me personally, and the club. You have stepped up in a big way and I want to thank you for everything that you did for 2009. To the members these guys had a season planed that would blow this season out of the water.
I will reevaluate the future of the club later this year.
