    21mm hex bit?

I know it's a long shot but I was wondering if anyone in the SE Aurora area has a 21mm hex bit I could borrow for a couple of hours. I thought I had one, but alas, I was wrong.

Need it to pull the front wheel off my bike. The one I ordered won't be in until Thur and I was hoping to get tires swapped tomorrow.

I checked my tools Salsa. No go on my end. I have an idea who has them though (in your area)

nice... wish I knew how to weld. One of my goals. Too bad there's not a way to conjure up a 46mm socket! That sucker was pricey.

    Re: 21mm hex bit?

I have one up here in Broomfield. I have to take my front tire off tonight or tomorrow to get the right fork seal replaced (it finally blew after the rough ride up to Alaska). Unfortunately I'm in Broomfield

I know you said you ordered it, but the Tool Zone up on 120th had several 22's when I picked mine up (just for the others who may need one).

    Sorry.

Had I thought about it, I would have picked one up when I was at AIS this afternoon. I'm sure they would of had it.

thanx for the heads up on Tool Zone.

You can use a bolt with a 21mm head and two 21mm nuts jammed together. Put the head into the axle and use a wrench on the inside nut.

Welding a bolt with a 21mm head into an old socket is another good choice.

    I have one of these:

Check hex fitting on the backs of your spark plug sockets. I've turned them around on an extension and had good luck removing axles that way.

    That's what I do.
3/4" (I think) wrench to hold it in place and slide the remainder of the socket hex into the axle.

    I'm pretty sure I have a 21mm socket.
I can grab it during lunch and get it to you somewhere in the DTC area.
    Where are you located?

    Re: 21mm hex bit?

Just checked my sparkplug sockets... just loose enough that I think it could do some real damage.

No worries, the one I ordered will be here tomorrow and I'll get to the tires on Saturday.

    Re: 21mm hex bit?

    Are you sure it's 21mm?
My axle nut it like a 32 or 34mm.

I grabbed a 21mm at lunch, just let me know if you end up needing it.

Or, you could swing by the shop and get one of these:

BTW, your front axle is most likely a 22mm hex (7/8 inch will usually work)

    Oh, he needs a 21mm (actually 22mm) Allen Head socket....not a 21mm socket.
Oh well, forget what I got then Salsa.
(Though I have a plug socket rig like Scott mentioned that would work.)
