    Echo Park

    EDIT: Echo Mountain

Has anyone ever been there? is it all just terrain stuff or do they have some runs for just good ol fashion boarding/skiing?

Looking to take Siate snowboarding but don't want to go to the big resorts and heard about this place on the radio.

Has he been before or are you looking for lessons/planning on teaching him yourself?

    Re: Echo Park

he knows how to snowboard, though he hasn't done it in a couple years. we keep trying to go up every winter so i can learn and he and alan can go do their own thing but never get around to it mainly because the other places are too far.

Alan said that this echo mountain is mostly terrain stuff, which siate's never done but i'm sure he'd want to try it, though i'd rather him just go down a regular hill without doing all the tricks and jumps and stuff, lol!

You could check out Loveland or Eldora...

    Re: Echo Park

I was about to mention Eldora. It's not huge, but it's got enough runs for experienced boarders/skiiers to not be bored and enough greens for a n00b to get some good experience. Also, it tends not to be as crowded as it's not one of the bigger name/larger resorts

hahaha, amen sister! atleast he tries, bless his heart!

i think he's snowboarded about 3-5 times total, he's got the basics down and does pretty good on his own. definitley just looking for somewhere to take him to get him some more time on the board and maybe some point we'll make it to another park/resort where there are more runs for him to enjoy.

sounds about right then. don't want him trying to be billy bad ass to keep up with the more experienced kids/adults but also don't want him ran over or feel pressured.

Depends on your definition of experienced riders/skiers. That place usually has 50% beginners on it and 50% Park junkies that know how do ride/ski. The whole mountain is a Terrain Park. And a bad one at that. Kind of a waste.

Suki drive the extra 15 minutes and go to Loveland. It's larger than Echo and A-Basin, it has a small terrain park with a few features, but has a lot of open runs for all abilities. And the way the resort is designed it's hard to get lost.

Let me know when you plan on going and i help teach the lil one.

No way it's 15 more mins from Echo to Loveland...more like 30-40 mins. Eldora is only 30 mins from boulder. and a great place to learn and for the skilled. you may get shot at by an employee though?

    Re: Echo Park

DO NOT go to echo if you want to spend a good day of boarding, echo gets old after about 3 runs, and like they said its ALL park, except the kiddy hill. thers a couple unique things that id like to see at other resorts but definantly not worth it for a whole day.
