Doesn't vBulletin offer an option to lock threads that have had no activity for a set number of days? They would still be searchable in an archive state. If so, can we implement this to avoid more threads rising from the dead?

It took me about three minutes scrolling through those posts before I realized that it was started 4.5 years ago.
