    24 hr fitness - quincy/parker

My trainer/ing sessions are done this week ( i have one more 25 minute one left) and I got the mighty smack down from the breadwinner to buy more sessions so I need to find a gym rat to work out with.

does anyone work out at that gym that knows what the hell they're doing? I'm about half way to my goal but not a very good self motivator and need some guidance.

so who wants to get sweaty with me? anyone?

That 24 hour fitness is a little out of the way for me but if someone can hook me up with a friend/family discount on their account I might be convinced to take some turbokick classes with ya on the weekends.

Yes, I will be there, not this weekend, but next weekend. The gym there is pretty decent, tons of treadmills, elipticals and such. How are you at raquetball?

    Re: 24 hr fitness - quincy/parker

Suki, they used to have an add-on membership for like $11 a month or something, I would imagine they still do. I think it's supposed to be for family or people living in the same house but I'm not sure what the exact rules are/were on it. I just know one of my friends is set up that way on one of her friends accounts.

I would obviously repay anyone who was willing to do this for me. I just can't justify a membership to a gym when I already have everything I need to get a great workout in at home. I even have turbokick dvds but I just think it would be fun to try in the gym setting

    Re: 24 hr fitness - quincy/parker

negatory. i was just in there last month to add my son to my membership and it was $24/month, unless there was a special or something, that's what i was told. even with my corporate discount, it's like 19, but i'd have to cancel my current membership and sign up again under the corporate account and it'd end up being more. I bought the lifetime membership 3 years ago so it's only 80/year now.

That's ok, I have an extra medium length skirt you can borrow........j/k

Like I said, they have treadmill and other stuff. they have a pretty good selection of weight machines, a room full of spinning bikes, pretty much anything you would want to do there. Do you have an ID card or do you always get escorted?

    Re: 24 hr fitness - quincy/parker

Ouch 24 a month for an add-on?!??!! Don't they have a discount for children? I guess it does pay to do the lifetime cause 80 a year is cheap and I would be willing to pay that.

If you want to go to Buckley when I am there I have no problem escorting you. It's not like I have anything better to do. I usually get together with random friends and go drinking. The gym would probably be healthier for me, then go drinking.......

nope, no discount for kids. i ended up just buying him a lifetime membership. he has to pay a part of it and then after 3 years it's up to him to pay the annual fee, which now is like 100/year.

The building I work in has an entire underground facility for working out. It's quite nice, with lots of free weights and machines and TVs and lockers and whatever else. They even have deodorant, lotion, and mouthwash dispensers in the bathrooms.

If anybody ever wants to check it out for lunch, instead of, oh..... eating Red Robin, lemme know.

Hmmm maybe I will look into a lifetime membership then. Wonder how I can convince the sales guy to skip all the bs and just get down to the money. Last time I went to a 24 hr fitness with a free week pass it was an hour before I got out of there and then I never even used it.

Yeah an add on is always going to be at least $24, but usually $29; these people are like car salesmen so you can hagle with them. I think twice a year I get special deal for maybe a little cheaper. Funny I offered it to Wyck, but was told no; now she is interested

Dang Suki I practically live at 24 Hour Fitness, but the one on Santa Fe and Belleview. If you are down to go there I can help you. I may be able to go a few times to the one on Hampden and Tamarac to show you some stuff.
