I can never hate myself. I have plenty of mirrors to cheer myself up.

I have only ever had 1 break up so my experience is kinda limited.

    Yo,

I'm sorry someone has broken your heart. Although there are many ways people act in handeling things like this the best way to deal with this minor depression is to get out and get involved in things you love doing. Examples; Riding, listening to music, lifting weights, (get the endorphins going) going Skiing, scuba diving, watching movies, hanging with friends. I would not recommend drinking. That would be a bad thing. Numbing yourself is not the answer. Disappointment is the ways of life. Just realize you will preservere and once again be a happier person!

I have found out that it's all about respect. if you draw a line in the sand and on one side is respect and on the other is contempt it all comes down to which side of the line you are on. the more your 'X' marks the spot on the contempt side the closer you are to filing the divorce papers. Many things lead to moving the 'X' to the contempt side of the line from BOTH individuals.

It has nothing to do with being "good enough". You are who you are. It's either right for them, or it isn't. Sometimes this takes a while to figure out, but it doesn't necessarily mean you did anything wrong. So, no point hating yourself over shit that isn't your fault.

I usually just find some sort of distraction that will yields a positive return. Working out, hanging with friends, working more etc. That way, you are just investing all that anger and sadness into yourself and become better from it, after all is over.
Just don't do anything out of your character to spite them then it just becomes pathetic that you can't even be yourself anymore. Wasting all that time over someone else who doesn't care about you, doesn't get refunded to you at any point in your life. Sorry to be blunt but I have some experience in the field too.

This thread kinda makes me never wanna be with anyone ever again. But you kinda have to realize that the fun parts of being in the relationship "should" outweigh the bad parts. Unfortunately, like what you are going through now. Hang in there kid.

Then tell him since he couldn't refund the cost of your labor, then you're repo'ing you work.

Srsly, being callous has its upsides. Just ask Ninja!

I keed, I keed! Better to have loved & lost than to have wracked up a hella bill on internet pron & ho-ho's. Look at it less like you've lost someone and more like you've learned more about what you want in someone so that you won't turn around and make the same mistake twice. Although that post-mortem usually comes a little bit after dust has settled

If you're the hurt party you can't just flip a switch and turn off your feelings for them. A year after my breakup, sometimes a song, or item, or place will still trigger a memory of her. But those thoughts get fewer and farther in between. You don't ever stop caring, you just find someone or something new to devote your energy to.

    Me.. I bought a bike.
Shitty thing is that when my ex and I broke up about a year and a half ago, I had practically no friends out here, no bike, nothing to really keep me busy. She had a ton of friends, things to do, guys all over her. That shit SUCKED!

I think I can say I'm 95% over her, but like asp said, little things remind me of her every once in a while.

My ex pulled that crap too. Now that I think about it, it's funny because it's obvious she wasn't worth a shit.

Had I not gotten a bike over the summer and been able to do this (other than the music), I think I would have gone ape shit and done somethings that wouldn't have been good. Riding is BY FAR my best stress reliever. You're free on a bike more or less, just one of the best feelings.

Wow- Sorry for all of you who are hurting. I think it is very important to remember that not one person on here hasn't felt that pain. Although you feel alone in a room full of people- you are not.

We're talking about bike parts right?

I mean I've had a couple exes try and remove other parts.

Actually the only relationship that i didn't want to end and it did was when i was younger. I've pretty much had my guard up ever since and I'm usually the one doing the dumping for fear of getting too close to someone.

So you're saying a guy can basically count on you to self destruct a relationship?
They wouldn't have to really commit cause you're gonna end it shortly anyway?

    Usually during the breakup.

My all time favorite breakup (attempt) was with the great lost love of my life. (Aka: Psycho)
I told her we were done, over, finished!
She just stood there with her crossed and calmly said:
"No, you're not allowed to break up with me. I veto your breakup."

It was so fucking cute. She pulled it off without sounding needy or egotistic.
For good or bad that one kept us together for another year.
