I'm sorry someone has broken your heart. Although there are many ways people act in handeling things like this the best way to deal with this minor depression is to get out and get involved in things you love doing. Examples; Riding, listening to music, lifting weights, (get the endorphins going) going Skiing, scuba diving, watching movies, hanging with friends. I would not recommend drinking. That would be a bad thing. Numbing yourself is not the answer. Disappointment is the ways of life. Just realize you will preservere and once again be a happier person!

I have found out that it's all about respect. if you draw a line in the sand and on one side is respect and on the other is contempt it all comes down to which side of the line you are on. the more your 'X' marks the spot on the contempt side the closer you are to filing the divorce papers. Many things lead to moving the 'X' to the contempt side of the line from BOTH individuals.

It has nothing to do with being "good enough". You are who you are. It's either right for them, or it isn't. Sometimes this takes a while to figure out, but it doesn't necessarily mean you did anything wrong. So, no point hating yourself over shit that isn't your fault.

I usually just find some sort of distraction that will yields a positive return. Working out, hanging with friends, working more etc. That way, you are just investing all that anger and sadness into yourself and become better from it, after all is over.
Just don't do anything out of your character to spite them then it just becomes pathetic that you can't even be yourself anymore. Wasting all that time over someone else who doesn't care about you, doesn't get refunded to you at any point in your life. Sorry to be blunt but I have some experience in the field too.

This thread kinda makes me never wanna be with anyone ever again. But you kinda have to realize that the fun parts of being in the relationship "should" outweigh the bad parts. Unfortunately, like what you are going through now. Hang in there kid.

If you're the hurt party you can't just flip a switch and turn off your feelings for them. A year after my breakup, sometimes a song, or item, or place will still trigger a memory of her. But those thoughts get fewer and farther in between. You don't ever stop caring, you just find someone or something new to devote your energy to.

Shitty thing is that when my ex and I broke up about a year and a half ago, I had practically no friends out here, no bike, nothing to really keep me busy. She had a ton of friends, things to do, guys all over her. That shit SUCKED!

I think I can say I'm 95% over her, but like asp said, little things remind me of her every once in a while.

Its weird when you try to talk to her and she seems so disconnected and over it.....

My ex pulled that crap too. Now that I think about it, it's funny because it's obvious she wasn't worth a shit.

this is exactly why it helps me so much. i crank some tunes and COMPLETELY tune in to the road and ride. no other thoughts. pure release.

Had I not gotten a bike over the summer and been able to do this (other than the music), I think I would have gone ape shit and done somethings that wouldn't have been good. Riding is BY FAR my best stress reliever. You're free on a bike more or less, just one of the best feelings.
