Open Positions Available for the 2005 Race Season!

Just when you thought we were done getting everyone lined up to work
this season... We have several positions open (non-elected, these are
board or officer-chosen). That's right, you too can be a cog in the
machine of racing here in the MRA; if helping out to make this season
be the best ever sounds appealing to you, read on!

The following positions are open and need to be filled:

    - Equipment Manager
    - Air Fence Manager (should have prior experience)
    - 3 Air Fence Crew members
    - Transponder Manager
    - Head Scorekeeper
    - 3 Scorekeepers
    - Head Corner Marshal

If you're interested in one of these positions, please contact me
directly for more information. Please give me a little more to go on
than "yeah that sounds cool", especially since there usually is
competition for some of these jobs. At least some sort of writing on
your part explaining why you think you're the one for the job would
help me out. Also please include your FULL NAME, RACER NUMBER (if you
have one), and PHONE NUMBER in the email/PM you send me.

Please remember that these are season-long positions and if
chosen, you will need to be able to commit to being there every event. Compensation varies depending on the job; interested people will get
details sent to them along with a full "job description".

Even if you expressed interest in one of these positions previously, assume I forgot about you and "re-apply". Please PM or Email me through the forum here directly if interested.

Thanks to everyone who helps to make this the best race club around!

Hey Ralph I wanted to point out that most of these postions are non-racing postions. With the exception of air fence most would be, if not impossible to race and do the job.

air fence crew can race, most of their work is setup and teardown. You just have to be committed to respond to fill up the air fence during the day whenever you aren't on the track.

I would like to help out with the air fence thing.
But since my weekends are unpredictable, I would not be able to absolutly commit myself to every race weekend.
Is there anyway I can help with the air fence, for most of the races?

MV - I talked with Glenn about this; if you have a serious race program, you really can't do both. You need to be working all day, it's more than setting up Saturday morning and tearing down Sunday night.

Buddau - I have had a lot of people express interest in the air crew. I'll keep you in mind, but right now I'm leaning towards people that can make the full-season commitment.

FWIW I've received a LOT of applications for Air Fence, so though I have not chosen the people yet, consider that crew filled.

All other positions are, as of yet, unfilled.

I haven't gone through the Air Fence stuff yet. I have selected my Head CM, and transponder person(s). Working on Equip manager now. The scorekeepers are actually not mine, I just posted that for Aurora. We'll make an announcement shortly with the full crew lists.

Just in case you haven't seen the for sale section, I have to withdraw my application for the air fence crew. I am moving to California March 19th. Thank you for the opportunity and I will miss all you guys.

I believe so. Ray Gaimara is heading up the Airfence crew and I think he notified those who will be on it.

Sorry if you didn't make it, there wasn't anything personal - just a LOT of interest!
