MOTORCYCLE ONLY Track Days at HPR

    Wow, you guys are SPOILED!!

So, I just got done doing a bunch of revisions to the online schedule for High Plains Raceway. Between the private schools/track days and HPR run days I tried to get 2-4 motorcycle lapping/school days per month, as evenly spaced as possible. A good number of the motorcycle days are on Mondays for you dealership employees! Check it out here --> http://www.highplainsraceway.com/events.html

Pay special attention to the following for the Friday and Monday lapping days:

"Open Lapping Day - Cars Only" is pretty self explanatory, no biker trash allowed

"Open Lapping Day - Motorcycles Only" are days that are open to ALL motorcycles, race and street bikes

Any Friday that says "Motorcycle Roadracing Association" is a practice day open to MRA licensed racers only. Full MRA tech applies

    General policies:
    - You need either a current MRA race license (or a current race license from another MRA recognized sanctioning body) or an HPR Lapping Day License to participate in a lapping day.
    - If you can document track or racing experience within the last calendar year you will be required to attend a quick, free riders meeting style orientation course and you will be issued an HPR Lapping Day License.
    - If you cannot document any track experience within the last calendar year you will be required to attend an HPR orientation class (similar to the Pueblo requirement) in order to get an HPR Lapping Day License. Cost will be ~$150 for the orientation class.
    - Tech requirements for Lapping Days are similar to other area tracks. No antifreeze, good brakes and tires, no leaks, etc. Good helmet, boots, gloves. Full leathers, 2 pc must zip all the way around.
    - Gates will open at 7:00, track hot 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
    - $150 for a full day
    - $90 after 12:30 pm (this is entering the GATE at 12:30 or later)

Chicane Track Days has events on Monday, June 8th and SUNDAY, September 13th!

Jason Pridmore's STAR Motorcycle School is coming July 13/14.

I'm sure I've forgotten a few things so don't hesitate to ask.

**EDIT** The MRA racing schools on April 11th and 12th will also provide you with an HPR Lapping Day License. More info here --> http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forum...100#post415100

Thanks to HPR for recognizing other track qualifications.
Was worried I'd have to pay for another class.
I was going to take the MRA qualification class this year but since I can't race due to finances it's nice to know I can still ride.

Knew that $45 track days were a thing of the past, but glad to see the prices for HPR will still be doable on the tight budget.

Looking forward to the inaugural year at HPR.

Re: MOTORCYCLE ONLY Track Days at HPR

This track is awesome, the video does not do it justice at all. I used Pueblo gearing and on the back straight at HPR I was in 6th gear for a bit. The elevation changes will take some time to get used to for most of us. At speed turns 1 & 2 at HPR are like Hastings but flat. Everywhere else most of us have never rode anything like it.
It is like a roller coaster for motorcycles!
I cant wait to ride there again.

Do you know what they would consider documented track? I don't have a race license but I have been to several weekends at Jennings GP and one weekend at Barber in the past year. I don't know that I have anything to document that other then pictures? I might be able to get the track day organizer to send me something that states that I was there?
Hate to take a $150 class if it's not necessary, would rather spend the time on the track!

A receipt for the track day, a school completion certificate, something on their letterhead confirming you were there, etc

I wonder if Chicane track days could provide that documentation?

I've never gotten any kind of receipt from PMP.

Chicane will be providing cards once you complete one of their schools. I'm sure Rybo can expand on it, but yes you'll get zee papers.

Time to start planning my 'sick day' excuses

    Dear Mr. Boss man,
I'm sorry I won't be able to come in on Monday, I've seem to come down with a terrible Highplains-itos. Side effects can include dizziness, oh-shit face and thank- god-I-made-it-through-that-turn bumps. I better not come into work. This shit is more contagious than a free hooker with a 5 page list of STD's. See ya tuesday with a big ass grin

Is there any way someone could get a hold of all the sign-in sheets from Pueblo last year? I'd hate to have to pay for a newbie class having already dealt with the hassle at Pueblo in past years...

    Regardless,
Yes, Chicane will be providing a laminated card once any rider completes the course. This card will get you into the 2nd category for HPR days. You will still have to do a free orientation/ riders meeting type of course at HPR, but you will not have to pay for an orientation course.

Paul- To answer your question the "sign in" sheets at Pueblo won't really work because spectators and riders alike have to sign in.

    Hope that helps!

Glenn, do you mean $150 for the class plus $150 for track time, or is track time included in the class cost? Is the class all day or just the morning?
