So my route home from work is 470 east from Lucent to 25 north. Exit at Colorado, go north to cherry creek south. 9 times out of 10 the ride is incredibly uneventful and seeing a police officer is rare.
Apparently there was something in the water all over denver today.
On the way home first I see an suv pulled over by a cop with the officer at the SUV's window talking to the driver. Then I see an unmarked red crown vic/lincoln murcury with the light bar going and right in front of him is a red, white, & blue Honda (I'm assuming a VFR). The officer's talking to the guy next to the bike who doesn't look like he's got a damn bit of gear on or around him. Then I see a flatbed towtruck pulling a Subaru, back first, up onto the bed. And this is all on the same shoulder of the road just on the overpass going over Broadway.
Next is a copy pulling people over going the opposite way under the overpass between University & Quebec.
On 25 North I see two cars pulling back onto the road after hitting each other...with broken glass all across my lane.
Farther north there's a full on hook & ladder firetruck pulled over on the side of the road with a hose and three firefighters working on something in the car from the open driver's door of a red minivan that doesn't seem burned out or to be on fire whatsoever.
The exit at Colorado had an ambulance pass by on his way, I soon found out, to an accident just north of Iowa & Colorado where one car had rear ended another pretty good and the whole thing had attracted a fire truck, two police cars, and two ambulances and had taken up two lanes of traffic.
Is there a full moon? Is everyone on the crazy-period? Is there something in the water? WTF Denver!?
I guess the bottom line is watch your asses as crazy shit seems to be taking no hostages today...
