    Happy Square Root Day!!!!!

I know we have more than a few math nerds on here.

Tuesday is Square Root Day, a rare holiday that occurs when the day and the month are both the square root of the last two digits of the current year. Numerically, March 3, 2009, can be expressed as 3/3/09, or mathematically as √9 = 3, or 3² = 3 × 3 = 9.

Square Root Day occurs only nine times in a century. The last one occurred on February 2, 2004, and the next will occur in seven years on April 4, 2016.

Gee Dallas... feel like catching me up on my math homework? I've been too busy riding and whatnot to even log in to my class. LOL

I would love to help you out, but I can't even find the time/energy to log on and do my own math class.

    Re: Happy Square Root Day!!!!!

I got sent to the principal's office in 7th grade because of square roots once.

The teacher showed us how to do a square root by hand. I knew an easier way to do it (and not with a calculator smartasses, this was 1978 and calculators that could add/subtract/multiply/divide were still expensive). She got all huffy and told me to go up to the chalkboard and show the class. I did. Then I got sent to the office for some reason I still don't understand. Disrupting the class I guess. They moved me up to the 8th grade class after that.

The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Disrupting the class or mortifying the teacher perhaps? LOL Who wants to be one upped by a 7th grader??
