When Not to Hyphenate Your Name

Sometimes it just isn't a good idea:

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Maybe they all have a really lame sense of humor and want to hear that joke anytime someone tries to say their name...

Or maybe it really is crapp-beer, or maybe she really is a Traylor-Hooker...

I don't think he can make it happen. He can just tell you what millisecond, of what second, of what minute, of the hour, on the day, of the month and year it will happen. That's all.

I actually ran across that while reading this story about a guy who got drunk, went for a ride, hit a wild boar and sued the state of Texas successfully for $8+ million:

Sorry Sean. You won't be able to see that one either...

Buwahahahah!!! I have a friend whose husband's last name is Dick. She kept her maiden name. I would probably do the same! Susan Dick. Yeah, that would suck!
