What a shot!
Al Jazeera needs to put these photos on their TV feed! A backwoods hunter from the Alabama National Guard spotted this guy, complete with

suicide bomber vest, inside a compound in the Green Zone in Iraq. He used a well placed 50 cal sniper round from over 1700 yards (about a
mile) to stop him.

I call BS i was part of KFOR and there were no regular soldiers carring a Barrett .50cal there. Also it was EXTREMELY rare to see a suicide bomber. Look at the pic. On the HUMVEE there is a big stencil that says KFOR which is the theatre in which we are operating in Kosovo. Look at the soldier in the pic. He was wearing a BDU cap. If he was wearing a boonie cap or a guilie suit he may have had a sniper rifle but NOT a barrett. Also look at the terrain. The soldier is in the mountains standing next to soft back humvee. The closest one is an UpArmor M998/M1024. If this was in Iraq they would have different markings and would be sand color. Look at the dead guy. If a .50 round went past his head with in 12 inches the air displacement that the round makes would have taken his head off. Also at the distance it was to said have been at he would have had a much larger scope. My.02 (from someone who used to do such things)

Yes the story is major BS. To me it looks like the soldier in the pic is holding a sniper rifle just for the photo op.

Also realize that the way the remains of his head are distributed suggests he was lying on the ground and then run over by something heavy. If he was standing and shot by something that powerful, his brains wouldn't be neatly distributed around where his head fell.

I am with Gecco...I am not all up on the army marking and stuff (though the unarmored humvee is not iraq)....you can clearly see by the brain splatter pattern that this person was not standing. Had he been upright, the splatter would have been backwards and vaporized within the air. This guys brain matter is spread in a close range to his head an on the ground, more concurrant with a release of pressure from the upper cranium region of the head.
