    Lost Key

My only key to one of bikes has gone Missing In Action and I can't find it anywhere (I usually put all my keys in one spot).

What are my best courses of action??? Can a stealership make a key with the bike title? Do I call a locksmith?

Anyone else have a douche moment like this? How much is this going to cost me?

The only way you can get a key remade is takeing the igniton switch off and checking for a serial number on the lock itself (its usually hidden) but it may not be there. No other way to get a new key made. What kind of bike is it? Last chance option is to call these guys, If your in the springs call Colorado stae and lock (719) 471-0095‎ they will come to your door and make a new key with ignition in bike. Best in the business and have good prices. Worst case we could price a new ign switch for you.

    Jason,

If you can get the gas cap open, you can take the lid to a locksmith and they can cut a key from an impression. If you need help getting into the tank, I can most likely do it for you.

Edit:assumes that the key doesn't have a chip in it.

.. or if that doesn't work, the lock to the rear seat/cowl since they ought to be the same.

A good locksmith can fashion a key for you. I'm not sure how they do it, but I had one of those mobile jobs come out to PPIR one year, and he made a new one for me, after I managed to lose the only one I had with me.

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

We use Englewood Lock and Safe on S Yosemite all the time for bike keys. They can make one from an impression but if you can get the key code it is cheaper
