I am a new member to the csc and I have a 1996 ninja 250. I was riding to work the other morning and it acted like it was running out of gas. I had a friend get it home for me and i broke down the carb and tried cleaning it. I don't know if i missed something or what. It will idle for awhile before it sounds like it floods out. If i give it gas while in idle it bogs down and dies. If anyone can tell me what i am doing wrong it would be appreciated. thanks

hows the battery/ignition componants/spark plugs? if you only drive short trips, the battery might be extremely weak, or maybe the plugs are fouled. NAPA can order you new plugs if needed (NGK part # CR8HSA)

I've had this problem with my 2001. I did everything that has been mentioned (cleaned the carb, new battery, new plugs) plus some and it still didn't solve the problem.
So I sold the POS and bought a fuel injected Ninja 650. Problem solved.

CV carbs require vacuum to operate, for 2 carbs to start f-ing up at the same time I would look at some thing common to both (ie. vacuum connection).
I appreciate the feedback and I wish I could afford a new ninja. I gave I gave this bike to my wife becouse I just went out and got a gsx-r600. I will check all those things I guess. Thanks everyone
